Where would you choose?

There's always interesting non-DVC resort reports all around. So, I figured why don't we decide once and for all....if you had the choice and the power to build....where would you decide to build a new DVC resort add-on?

Personally, I would have to choose The Polynesian. What a beautiful place and wonderful atmosphere. We haven't stayed there yet, but had a character breakfast there and walked around a bit.

So, where would you choose and why?

I voted for Polynesian. We haven't stayed here yet, but will be in a few more days!

Voted for CV since you would be able to walk to MK and of course have easy access to other resorts directly by walking to the MK bus area (this also works at POly with TTC)

I voted for AKL. I just think it would make for a neat resort, and would be nice to have a "DVC" near that park.

BWV & BCV = Epcot & MGM
VWL = Very accessible to Magic Kingdom, I still dont understand all the transportation issues people complain about at this resort. I thought it was very smooth when we stayed at WL

So I guess it makes sense to have a DVC resort for Animal Kingdom if there were another one to be built

Contemporary - easy walk to MK!!
Poly - beautiful and laid back, more my style
AKL - animals!!!

I think my vote would have to go to the Poly.

Contemp is ultra convenient but kind of ugly - someone nick named it the "Toaster Hotel."

AKL would be great but kind of far from the rest of the world. Good for a few days staying at the hotel over the weekend.

I would sell everything else and buy Animal Kindgom villas with a view of the savannah in a HEARTBEAT!

I grew up in Knoxville, TN and there is a hotel there that kind of looks like CR. WE call it the dam that missed the river!!!

I'd go "toaster hut" all the way. Why? Just because it IS so out of date! Maybe, if DVC built there, they would finally UPDATE it. To me, that's a waste of very very very prime property -- awfully convenient to MK, right on the water. Good restaurants. They could do so much with this property. And the monorail is already there. I voted for sheer potential!

I chose GFV. I have always had a soft spot for GF because that is where we stayed on our first WDW trip in 1994. I also took my niece there in 1999. So close to MK! We stayed at the Poly on our second trip in 1996 and didn't care for it. AKL would be nice but it's so far out of the way. I have no interest in the current Contemporary.

If there was an any or all option, I'd gone that way. Too tough of a choice for this Disney fanatic to make. But I would opt for the monorail resorts first. Voted for Poly.

I have to vote the Poly. For those that have been going to WDW since it first opened, the Poly is one of the original and only resorts and it just holds soooooooo many memories from over the years! I have pictures of my kids taken over the years in the Poly lobby since they were toddlers, they are now in their 20's!!!
The Poly's lobby, tiki torches, beach, with view of electrical water parade, view of Cinderella's castle, the hammocks on the beach, O'Hana restaurant, MK fireworks, monorail access, etc, etc---------Yep my vote is definitely for the Poly!!!!

My thoughts....

AKL : is a beautiful resort. Too bad it's in the middle of nowhere.

GF: is also a beautiful resort, but I feel it's a little too "snooty" to be a home-away-from-home.

Poly: is a beautiful resort, but maybe a little...ok... let me say it...dated... for a new development.

That leaves CR. It's not exactly the most beautiful resort, but of the four, IMO the best pick. Tear down a wing, and add a villa. Great location right on the monorail. The resort is in great shape.

CR is my pick!

We would add-on at the Poly in a heartbeat. It is our most favorite non-DVC resort and we feel it would give us the best of both sides of the World, beings we now own at BCV. It would be just perfect.

I would add on at AKL tomorrow if it was available! I love the embiance, the isolation, and the animals!
