That's the decision I had to make today. (Yes, today is my b'day... like how I snuck that in? :teeth: )

Anyway, I chose Shula's (in part for Gene, he loves a big hunk of beef for dinner.) I was going to pick upstairs at Wolfgang Puck's, but we couldn't get in until almost 9:00 pm.

Has anyone eaten there and did you like it? I've eaten at Yachtsman's and I love the steak at Flying Fish. Can you recommend anything especially good at Shula's? We've never been there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
I dont have any advice for you, but if you post on the restaurant boards, Im sure you will get some raving reviews(Eeyore2U, is their biggest fan).

I will be spending my next birthday at the Kona Cafe, with Terryaki Beef, sticky rice and fried onions. YUM! And no, Im not much of a planner. ;)

the Y of course!

Yakatori House that is :)

Le Cellier

Cheese soup and the filet mignon with mushroom risotto. Oh yummy yum yum.

I'm not that crazy about the Y.
I had horrible service there :(

I haven't eaten at that Shula's, but I've eaten a couple times at the original in Miami, and it's an awesome restaurant, I can tell you that!

All the beef selections are top notch, and I highly recommend the beefsteak tomato salad (with blue cheese and red onion) and to split a side dish, because all of them (especially their baked potato) are HUGE!!

It's not cheap, however, so be prepared to spend some $$$$

Really Jenzebelle?

I've had nothing but great service at the Y.

Of course, it helps when there' s not a lot of people and they're not feeling rushed...then the service can be lacking.

Happy Birthday! I haven't tried Shula's yet. I hope you enjoy it.

For my birthday I have eaten at CA Grill and Citricos.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

i'm sure that you will enjoy wherever you decide to go!

Le Ceiliers - we ate there last december and I am not a big beef eater but I LOVED IT! Everything was delicious - :D Let us know how Shulas is we are going in 20 days and might have to try it!

And by the way
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My dear friends bsnyder and Mackey Mouse and her husband Tommy treated me to Shula's this past December.

I'm not a beef eater, so I wasn't sure if I would like this place or not. We started out with the barbeque shrimp appetizer - Yum! Then we all had a wonderful, fresh salad. Marsha and I got the fish, I believe, and Tommy and Bet got a filet mignon (I think!) The fish was excellent. The overall experience with Shulas was very nice - an excellent wait staff, a nice wine list, and great company! Couldn't ask for more! :)

If I were having a birthday party at WDW, I wouldn't hesitate about where I might go - to my favorite restaurant, California Grille. :)

Laura, hope your birthday is just grand! :)

Thanks everyone. I really like a lot of the places that you've suggested, but I really want to try someplace new. We like steak, so I'm sure Shula's will be okay, but I can't imagine any steak tasting better than the steak from Flying Fish.

We ate at 'Ohana at the beginning of this vacation and I'm happy to report that it was just as wonderful as usual. :)

Happy Birthday! I know it is magical!! :)

I got to eat my 36th b-day dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was really great!
If I could celebrate all my b-days at WDW, it wouldn't matter if I ate a Casey's or Le Cellier!!

Laura, what is the weather like now? The crowds? And are you having an amazing time at your home away from home? :)

Shula's is pretty cool...just bring that credit card!!!

I hope you have a great time!!

The weather is incredibly hot an humid! Too hot and humid!

This was our first stay at OKW and we LOVE it. It's so peaceful here and it's great to be able to park right outside our villa. It really is a pretty place and lots of room. I can't say enough good about it.

We had a great trip, but it's time to come home. We're leaving tomorrow morning for the long drive home.

It's a little more crowded than I expected, but not bad. We're just used to going at times when there are no crowds.

Now it's time to count down to the next trip in October. :teeth:

Happy Birthday, Laura!!! I would probably pick Kona Cafe or Ohana for my birthday, but I'm sure you'll love your meal tonight. Enjoy!
