We went in May last year when my daughter was 2 weeks shy of 2, and we got her the TEENY/TINY pack - n - play, and needless to say..we kept clothes in it..b/c no way could she fit in it. And she slept in the King Bed with us, which worked out fine! There was plenty of room, and she slept like a Queen (b/c the parks wiped her out)!
This time (she'll be 2.5 months shy of 3) we have a King bed again, and I am wondering if I should plan on her sleeping with us again or if I should get her a cot? She still sleeps in a crib at home, so I'm not sure if she'll stay on a cot or roll right off! :lmao:

Are there sides on the cots? Would it work to push the cot next to the wall? Or maybe our bed? Or should I plan on having a little guest in our bed?

What do you usually do?

Thanks!

Most (if not all?) resorts have bed rails available from Mousekeeping at no charge. They'll come and install them for you. Worked like a charm.

In a pinch (like our first night when Mousekeeping never made it up with the bed rails) we pushed the bed against the wall, then put the chairs up against the other side with the backs up against the bed. No, it wasn't the ideal situation, but it worked for 1 night.
My only experience has been at AKL, but I know those headboards are not fixed to the bed, they're bolted to the wall. Maybe the others are as well.

my littlest one will be 2y9m when we go this year. we are staying at ASMu family suite so I will try the chair/pullout twin thing.
I moved my twins to regular beds just after 3y old......so I will consider this a trial run for my youngest kwim?
i'll call for bedrails if I think we need them

last year we took a ready bed for ds(35months) This year I will probably take it again, it folds into a chair during the day.

My husband pushed the bed against the wall and he slept with me (35 months) and it worked out fine. It was easier having the bed against the wall then putting up the rail twice a day. We have actually done this on our past 3 trips with him. He will not sleep in a pack and play.

We picked POR to stay in December precisely so our 2yo ds could sleep on the trundle bed (have to request Alligator Bayou). It worked out wonderfully!

He did roll off it a couple of times but it is only about 6" off the floor so no worries! If we had been staying at a different resort w/o a trundle, I would definitely have him sleep w/ either dh or myself w/ a bedrail.

Well, my 2-1/2 yr old slept on the luggage bench, lol! We are a family of 5 staying in POR on the mansion side (no trundle). I had brought a ready bed for her but when she walked in the room and saw the luggage bench, she was soooo excited that there was a "bed" just her size!:lmao: It was padded and had a back to it, so we made up her bed with blankets we had brought in the car for the kids and pushed the open side up against one of the beds so she couldn't fall out. She thought it was great!:lmao: No way would she have slept in a pack n play.

So, I don't know if all the resorts have these or where you are staying, but I'm sure we can't be the only people that have ever used the luggage rack as a bed, lol! Mousekeeping even made up her bed each day. I'm really not sure what disney expects you to do with a 2 year old that they allow in the room as a 5th person, since most 2 year olds are over the weight and height limits for a pack n play. That always seemed a little strange to me.
