LOL yah - we are a non-snake family... Non-squirrel family too, but that is another story.

That is so awesome!!! Congrats! I need to call one of these days...

WooHoo! That's awesome! I am really really hoping for a great PIN too. I got 3 PINs before my July trip, so I hope I haven't used them all up. Thats so great....but Tom's gonna get reemed out later I bet!
Joining in on your PTR. Sounds like lots of fun. I think I am all caught up...hopefully I didn't miss anything along the way. My boyfriend and I both love taking pics also. I've actually been exploring photography threads for cool Disney pic ideas for our Oct. 2013 trip!
ummm Squirrels????Like a
really??
you know i have to ask... WHY???
the squirrels here knock on the door an point to their mouths!! ha ha ha. So of course i feed them.. so do the neighbors
CALL!!! i believe they are giving them out all over!!!
I don't know how I got them....two were email and I was regular mail. One was for other dates, so that got tossed. One was for a % off a package, but I like room-only...so I held off and the next week I got a room-only offer for 35% off at a moderate. Score! Hoping for another one. I'm not worried....they will have some sort of good deal for Oct, I just know it.
Umm... Let's see... 3 summers ago??? Josh was remodeling our house - new windows, new siding throughout. But since he was doing it himself, it was a very slow moving project.
Needless to say, since it was so slow, he didn't have all the soffit and fascia on the side of the house. So, momma squirrel moved in to our attic - above our bedroom. I kept hearing things up there, but Josh would never hear them??? I was starting to get a little obsessed about it, until finally - I didn't hear anything anymore. Phew! Then, about a month later - it began to get really loud and crazy up there... always while Josh was at work, so he didn't believe me. Then, finally - he heard it too...
So, he worked double time to get the house sealed.
After much research, and craziness... We determined we had squirrels in our attic - many - a whole litter. And since Josh sealed up the house, Momma couldn't get in, and babies couldn't get out. Not only that, but squirrels are VERY destructive... Kind of like mice and rats - they chew through everything and their feces is very diseased... So, they are a very big fire hazard and also destructive and bad for your health. So, we had this whole litter up there, and they were LOUD!
So, Josh crawled up on our porch roof, where we suspected they had their nest - sure enough - they had packed so much crap into our new soffit/fascia... Josh put a trap on our roof with lots of peanut butter in it, and we prayed that the babies would come out with out too much persuasion.
So, the girls and set up camp on our front sidewalk, and watched those adorable babies climb out of our house, one by one all day long... There we 5 (!!!!) of them up there!

Oh - this isn't over yet...
So, that night, after they all crawled out of our house and Josh sealed up the soffit/fascia... I went into the basement to get a load of laundry, I rounded the corner by the washing machine, and sitting on top of the laundry basket was 2 baby squirrels...
You know in Scooby-Doo, where they start running and screaming before they actually start moving? Yah - um - that was me... arms swinging - the whole 9 yards.I know you all can totally picture this right?
So, then Josh had to get them out of the basement... It was crazy, because he went down with a broom and all I heard was lots of banging and swearing... while I held the basement door closed - ain't nobody gettin' out of there until the squirrels were gone.
I guess someone had left our basement door open a crack (walk-out basement), and that's how they got in.
We don't like squirrels at all, and they are not welcome in our yard. Or our home... We would prefer that they didn't even live in our town at all.
I hope you all enjoyed my squirrel story.

Hmmm....

Yep...going in October 2013...at least that's the plan. I guess I should start saving some $$ if we are ever going to get there.
I never thought to PM folks for tips....I might have to do that. Most everyone here on the DIS is so friendly and helpful.![]()
I hope that the Poly gives you the extra magic when you get there.
As to what to do on the 1st day.....
My vote goes to MK. It is always special there for me and it just feels so Disney.
I would book a character meal in...possibly at the Crystal Palace...and see Winnie the Pooh and his friends.
The dessert Party is good. If your kids love sweet, then it will be worth the extra $$.
Do you know if MNSSHP will be running on this night? And if it is, would you go to the party? It will change the equation as to which park and where to eat....
your absolutely correct MK is the Best.. i don't think they would be so thrilled for winnie on their birthday.. I was hoping for BOG!!! Praying they rethink the character meal there.. I really don't understand why they wouldn't?!?!?then maybe the dessert party IF they have it that night?!?
the MNSSHP started on the 11th this year so i am going to assume it will be around the 10th next year?? maybe?
I don't we will be doing the pirate league this year. Maybe the barber shop.. that was a lot of fun. We had more compliments!!!
