I don't know how I got them....two were email and I was regular mail. One was for other dates, so that got tossed. One was for a % off a package, but I like room-only...so I held off and the next week I got a room-only offer for 35% off at a moderate. Score! Hoping for another one. I'm not worried....they will have some sort of good deal for Oct, I just know it.

Congrats to all who are getting discount pins!

Sadly, they don't offer them to international visitors. :sad1:

Umm... Let's see... 3 summers ago??? Josh was remodeling our house - new windows, new siding throughout. But since he was doing it himself, it was a very slow moving project.

Needless to say, since it was so slow, he didn't have all the soffit and fascia on the side of the house. So, momma squirrel moved in to our attic - above our bedroom. I kept hearing things up there, but Josh would never hear them??? I was starting to get a little obsessed about it, until finally - I didn't hear anything anymore. Phew! :cool1: Then, about a month later - it began to get really loud and crazy up there... always while Josh was at work, so he didn't believe me. Then, finally - he heard it too... :cheer2: So, he worked double time to get the house sealed.

After much research, and craziness... We determined we had squirrels in our attic - many - a whole litter. And since Josh sealed up the house, Momma couldn't get in, and babies couldn't get out. Not only that, but squirrels are VERY destructive... Kind of like mice and rats - they chew through everything and their feces is very diseased... So, they are a very big fire hazard and also destructive and bad for your health. So, we had this whole litter up there, and they were LOUD!

So, Josh crawled up on our porch roof, where we suspected they had their nest - sure enough - they had packed so much crap into our new soffit/fascia... Josh put a trap on our roof with lots of peanut butter in it, and we prayed that the babies would come out with out too much persuasion.

So, the girls and set up camp on our front sidewalk, and watched those adorable babies climb out of our house, one by one all day long... There we 5 (!!!!) of them up there!

CIMG5161.jpg

Oh - this isn't over yet...

So, that night, after they all crawled out of our house and Josh sealed up the soffit/fascia... I went into the basement to get a load of laundry, I rounded the corner by the washing machine, and sitting on top of the laundry basket was 2 baby squirrels...

You know in Scooby-Doo, where they start running and screaming before they actually start moving? Yah - um - that was me... arms swinging - the whole 9 yards. :thumbsup2 I know you all can totally picture this right?

So, then Josh had to get them out of the basement... It was crazy, because he went down with a broom and all I heard was lots of banging and swearing... while I held the basement door closed - ain't nobody gettin' out of there until the squirrels were gone.

I guess someone had left our basement door open a crack (walk-out basement), and that's how they got in.

We don't like squirrels at all, and they are not welcome in our yard. Or our home... We would prefer that they didn't even live in our town at all. :rolleyes1

I hope you all enjoyed my squirrel story.

CALL!!! i believe they are giving them out all over!!!

I will try to call today...

D~

Ladies, don't get me started on the squirrels...D~ you have seen my TR...Gabe is no longer a squirrel lover either. :rolleyes1

D~ your story trumps ours...I almost spewed coffee from my nose reading your scooby doo reaction and imagining DH swinging that dangerous broom and swearing at the furry little devils!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I  disfriends...what a great way to start my Friday morning! :cloud9:

On the Poly??

Last time we stayed there we were in Fiji... We did love it. But read on the ALOHA poly board someone really liked Samoa. Close to the Great Ceremonial House is key for me.. i heard that they are very giving when it comes to upgrades??? :confused3 all i can do is ask.

First day??
So as you know my plan is to be IN Disney on their 9th Birthday. September 8th
Which Park?
Which restaurant?
Maybe the dessert Party?
I want this day to be EXTRA Special for obvious reasons. MIGHT if budget allows i would like to do this: Special Surprises
Our first Disney vacatrion we did the In Room Celebration i was flabbergasted on how well they did up the room. I loved LOVED everything. Because of $$ we did not do the MNSSHP. This year we are going to the party!!! ::yes::
Couple of pictures from that:

Drive::drive:
Google is telling me it will take about 19 hours.
I'm mapping out the drive now. :surfweb:We should leave Chicago anytime before 1pm. thoughts are stop somewhere in Georgia to nap?? I, can and will, sleep in the car. Tom is telling me he will be fine and can do the drive all the way without the nap stop... He can't sleep in a car... Regardless of what he says there is no way you can deal with that long of a drive then do a full day at Disney.
I do have a heavy foot when driving:moped: i see we will be passing a couple of airports which means traffic.... Anyone help on this? Where is a good place to stop?
Do any of you know of good maps? or app for the phones??
Where should i tell the kids we are driving to?

I want to order the maps and planning DVD's!!! Should wait until next year... :upsidedow
Going to read more probably come up with MORE questions!

All these October people! ;)
Just wait ALL of you will be SO jealous when i post our family has the ENTIRE world to ourselves!!! :yay:
saving money has to be a science. we are on such a TIGHT budget right now. can't afford to pay attention!

Yes people really are! :disrocks:
I swear i wouldn't do or know half the stuff if it weren't for the DIS. I have a lot more questions i need answered!

I hope that the Poly gives you the extra magic when you get there.

As to what to do on the 1st day.....:scratchin

My vote goes to MK. It is always special there for me and it just feels so Disney.

I would book a character meal in...possibly at the Crystal Palace...and see Winnie the Pooh and his friends.
The dessert Party is good. If your kids love sweet, then it will be worth the extra $$.
Do you know if MNSSHP will be running on this night? And if it is, would you go to the party? It will change the equation as to which park and where to eat....

your absolutely correct MK is the Best.. i don't think they would be so thrilled for winnie on their birthday.. I was hoping for BOG!!! Praying they rethink the character meal there.. I really don't understand why they wouldn't?!?!?:confused3 then maybe the dessert party IF they have it that night?!?

the MNSSHP started on the 11th this year so i am going to assume it will be around the 10th next year?? maybe?
I don't we will be doing the pirate league this year. Maybe the barber shop.. that was a lot of fun. We had more compliments!!!
photo-12.jpg
photo-6.jpg

so hopefully we ALL can do it. Meg still has not done the BBB i don't know if it's worth the $$$ they want.
Spoke to the all mysterious TOM and he again is insisting we will be driving straight threw to the happy place. :scared1: he PROMISES he will sleep in the car... :sad2:

we have 324 more days!!! :hourglass
Hey it's less then a year!!!:woohoo:

Love the hair sparkles. I might just have to do that! Oh...and I LOVE your tattoo. Very cool.

I think MK on Day 1 is a great idea. But...driving straight through....YIKES!:scared1: We drove straight through from KY last October. Left about 9:30pm, arrived at ASMo at 11am. Room not ready, I was a walking zombie. Got in room about 12:30. Napped until about 4:00. 6:45 ADR at Chef Mickey's. Bed early for Rope Drop the next morning. I missed not doing a park the first day, but there was NO WAY...it would not have been fun for anyone. However...in your situation it's their Birthday so you kinda HAVE to do a park that first day. Good Luck!:goodvibes
