We took the kids for a surprise trip to get one last use of our PAP's. This was a very kid centered trip and budget conscious as well. We stayed on DVC points so we had kitchen facilities to fill in the meals we did not eat out.
25th WCC at WL. I admit we were tired from travelling and DD was not feeling well, so my "this wasn't that great" amy be influenced by that. DH and I ordered the skillett. ALthough it was very good, I still do not think it was worth the money. DS ordered the NY strip steak. He liked it very much. DD had the PB and J. It was very big and she really enjoyed the fresh fruit. ALthough the milkshakes are suppoosed to be bottomless no one offered DS a refill (not really abig deal becasue he didn't really want one anyway). The total was around $120. which personally I think was high for what we got. I may try this again though since it may have just been me--tired with a sick kid! B

26th Lunch at Crystal Palace. Very good as usual, excellent Character interaction and super waitstaff! Except for the obnoxious guy at the next table over--picking his nose, yelling at the characters, etc. it was a perfect meal. I thought I was going to lose it when he stuffed the cloth napkin up his nose to fetch what his finger missed! $65 with tip A

27th Breakfast at Donald's--NEVER DO THIS ON EE DAY! THe food was great and plentiful, but the place was insane. There was no order at the gate for getting people with PS's in and by the time we got there for our 8:10 PS it was 9:10--we were still the first seating and it was insane. The hot food line was about 40 minutes long. I will do this again, just not on EE day. total about $40 since the kids had vouchers from renting through Alamo. Food A, bottleneck and service F

Lunch at Pizzafari--this was unplanned. DH and I shared an adult meal deal while the kids each had their own kids deal. A very good value for about $25. THree pizzas, 2 small drinks, 1 large drink, 2 bags of chips, three ice cream bars and 2 powerades and one bottled water. The pizza here was great and I will put this into our plans for 2004. A

28th Fantasmic Dinner Pkg at Hollywood and Vine. Nothing here was very exciting. THe tomatoes and cheese on bread was quite tasty, and the rootbeer sweetpotatoes were interesting. Overall I doubt I would do this again, but it was the only Fantasmic Package I could get when I called to reserve. $75 with tip. C+

29th Sci Fi Dine In We all had burgers, fries and milkshakes. Never a disappointment. The kids enjoy the atmosphere and DH and I enjoy the cool respite from the afternoon sun. Service was excellent. Total about $60 with tip. A

30th Clambake at Cape May. As usual it was wonderful. Clams were plentiful and the kids love the desserts. Everything was plentiful and hot. Great service as well. $90. with tip A

As I said nothing steller, very child centered. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Enjoyed your reviews. Although I've never dined at WCC, $120 does sound high for the descriptions I've read of the place. What is included in the skillet?

Welcome back and thanks for the reviews! I know you mentioned that you weren't crazy about Hollywood and Vine, but did you think it was worth it for the reserved seating at Fantasmic? I'm debating whether or not to book the Fantasmic package with Hollywood and Vine (because it appears to be the least expensive of the three) or just skipping the package all together and seeing the later Fantasmic show. Thanks for any thoughts on this!

BCV23 From what I can remember the skillet included ribs, pulled pork (which was wonderful), roasted potatoes, beef stew (very small portion though you could ask for more), barbeque baked beans, corn on the cob, salad, biscuits and corn bread. They bring one large skillett out for all who order to share and then return to see what if anything else you would like. We cleaned out the first skillett (we hadn't really had anything else to eat that day and they were not generous with the portion--three little potatoes, two little corn on the cobs(1/3 of a regular) 4 ribs, 1/2 cup of pulled pork, small ramikin of beans and stew, salad was small dinner salad size but you were to share it, breads were in a basket for the whole table to share) pretty quickly and ordered seconds of the foods we liked best. To be honest I was going to order the ribs, but they were only a few dollars less than the skillett and withthe ribs I would have had to order a dinner salad ala carte which would have been more expensive.

Gumdrop I thought as far as the Fantasmic Dinner package was concerned it was a good deal. It is much easier to go to Oscar's with the card they give you and walk up the back way to get into Fantasmic than to wait for the 10:30 show and crowd in with all those people. When you leave you go through the backway and get out well ahead of many others too. I think I would do it again for the Fantasmic package--I just didn't find anything at Hollywood and Vine to really make me want to go back other than the Fantasmic DInner package. On a lighter note the desserts there were very good and plentiful--my son began the dinner with Strawberry shortcake after eating one chicken plank--I guess he didn't think I had noticed! After that he had a good dinner. One other thing I noted was that I have never heard a CM complain to a guest before this--A CM asked how I was and I answered while asking the same of them and I got an earful! I was surprised to say the least??!

Thanks for your help patsal! I went ahead and booked the package after reading what you had to say about it. We'll give it a shot. That's funny how the CM complained to you. You usually don't expect people to answer that honestly when you ask them how they are :) What did you think of the reserved seats at Fantasmic? I've heard both good and bad opinions on them.

Thanks for the reviews....That guy at the Crystal Palace sounded nasty--ick!

Gumdrop The reserved seating was not bad. It is the two sections to the far right when you enter the theater, but really it was an unobstructed view. We went in about 8:15 and were in the section closest to the center about half way down and halfway in. The CM's in these sections don't seem so adament about the push over/make more room thing--though I found a row where we naturally ended up in the center of it by "sliding all the way down and filling in all available space"!LOL I figured just in case it was going to be full I liked that view and really didn't want to have to move in more!

Swankybeth-I gave the edited version--I had to laugh or I would have been throwing up--My poor DH was facing me, so he had no idea what was going on behind him--all he could see was my saying gross and gagging--then laughing so hard tears were coming out! Thank goodness my 11 year old DS was next to DH because I don't think I could have kept him under control!

Boy, when we last ate at WCC a couple years ago, DH ordered his own meal and I ordered the skillet. I think they brought me almost as much as you describe. No sausage, no smoked turkey any more? Weird.
