where to stay

We are planning a trip in June 05...with 2 kids (4&7) Should we stay on property or off at one of the Downtown hotels? So confused with all the info don't know which will be the best experience with 1st timers being kids...Have stayed at the WL 10 years ago for honeymoon, but not sure if it is worth the $$$.

Stay onsite. Your kids will love the Mickey wake up calls, you'll love not having to worry about carting souvenirs around with you. The resorts are convenient for going back for a brief rest, you get EMH, and you can charge to your room, so you don't need to worry about carrying a lot of cash or credit cards.

I'm told the Value resorts are popular with young kids, so, if you can do without a hot tub, you may want to look into those. If you need the hot tub, and you're on a budget, all the moderates we've stayed at have been great. With the 4 year old, you might want to consider POFQ, just because it's a small resort, so there'll be less walking for those tired little legs at the end of the day.

On site for sure!!! Just the transportation alone makes it worth it. Plus, all the WDW resorts are really great for kids.

I would suggest that you try one of the value resorts. AllStarMovies would be a hit most likely with your little ones. The pools are nice even if they don't have slides. The food courts have nice choices for food. The rooms are the smallest on-site tho. Two double beds. But if your kids can share a bed or have a parent sleep with a child in each bed, then it would work out great. I think you would find the ease of transportation will be much better there than off-site or at a DTD hotel. I'm staying at Movies in mid-June and paying about $110 per night, with tax. Yes, it's probably more than other off-site spots but the 'magic' is, as they say....'priceless'!!
