Hi all, I am a WDW expert but a DL newbie. In late March, my fiance and I will be going to DL for 3-4 days as part of a Honeymoon trip. I've been looking into the Good Neighbor hotels, but am definitely overwhelmed by all of the different offerings.

Which would you recommend based on price/ cleanliness/ location/ etc?

Thank yoU!!

What level hotel/motel are you hoping to stay at? If you have the budget, I would consider staying on-site or at the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance if you're looking into staying at a hotel. Most of the other places along Harbor (between Ball and Katella) are motels. Most are fine, but pretty basic and nothing fancy.

I'd prefer a hotel, but I'm not entirely opposed to a motel either. We're hoping to be in the range of approx. $200 a night.

For $200/night, you should consider Park Vue Inn. It's a motel, and definitely nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable and the decor is pleasant. And, best of all, it's right across the street right at the crosswalk. It has a small pool in the middle of the parking lot but somewhat camouflaged by a hedge around it, free breakfast, and free parking.

It's under your budget, most likely, but we generally stay at the Tropicana Inn and Suites. It is a motel, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and the customer service we've received there has always been great. You can request a king room, and I believe the king rooms are (for the most part) over the parking lot, and they have balconies (some of which face the park, therefore also fireworks). There's no guarantee on where your room will be, but as I said, the hotel staff has always been great about fulfilling our requests.

The location is great, IMO. It's right next to the crosswalk to the esplanade. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the security lines from there. It's definitely nothing fancy, and like the Park Vue its pool is in the parking lot, but if you're planning on spending most of your time in the parks, it fills the clean/comfortable requirements we have :)

Friends of ours also just stayed at the Grand Legacy at the Park down the street, which is also a pretty close walk to the esplanade, and they enjoyed that. I believe that is a hotel with indoor corridors, and I think breakfast was included there as well.

My BIL always stays at the Candy Cane Inn and it seems to always get good reviews but I am not sure what the price point is like as we have never stayed there.

Have a great trip to DLR....I really think you will like the both parks!

Other than the one trip we stayed at Paradise Pier Hotel, we have always stayed at the Red Lion Anaheim. The walk is really not that bad (though some would disagree) and other than housekeeping accidentally skipping our room one day, we've had no complaints in the four trips we've stayed there. I don't see it getting a lot of love on the DISboards, but we like it.

Im a fan of Desert Palms hotel. It's a true hotel that offers free breakfast and free wi-fi. Whenever we stay offsite I push for Desert Palms. It's a short 10 minute walk to the parks and near a 7-11 for quick snack stops.

Be careful not to confuse it with the Desert Inn and Suites, which is a popular motel nearby.

You should be able to get the Sheraton Park for under $200/night. It's a true hotel with some decent amenities and only about a 15 minute walk away.

If you start looking now, you might be able to get the Residence Inn/Anaheim Resort for around $200/night. It's awesome - brand new in August, super modern, everything is at least a 1 bed suite. Great breakfast in the morning, it's right at the corner of Harbor/Katella so maybe a 10 min walk.

We only stay at Hilton properties and recently we stayed at the new Homewood Suites. It just opened about a year ago, nice rooms, hot breakfast included, and about a 5 minute walk to the Toy Story shuttle which always has one there and it's free. Also really like the DoubleTree which is about a 10 minute walk to the shuttle. You can likely find rates around $150-175 a night.

I've stayed at the Anabella a couple times. The walk is peaceful past PPH and you can walk through the GCH lobby and downtown disney! The hotel is pretty romantic in my opinion

Oh wow, that sounds great! I'll definitely look into it.

I've seen that show up a few times in my searches so I'll definitely research it more.

Is that the one they were building next to the Red Lion?

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. It was definitely under $200 a night. Indoor hallways, a bar, resteraunt and Starbucks on site. A shuttle runs to and from the park every half hour that isn't shared by any other hotel. Its $5 a day. We've also stayed many, many times at Hojos across from the park. Love it, but getting tired of the panhandlers on the walk to and from the hotel.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn three years ago, and am planning on going to DL next year and staying there again. The rooms are a bit dated, but super clean. And the grounds are well kept and gorgeous! The free breakfast buffet is great, but you just have to make sure to get there early. They provide a free shuttle to the parks, but honestly, it's next door, so we always walked!
