We're going to Orlando for a few days before our Disney Cruise, I'm thinking of staying in Cabana Bay for the first 5 nights because we are planning on going to Universal for the first time ever for a few days, then spending 2 nights in a Disney resort - we will only be going to MNSSHP and spending the other day before the cruise at the resort. I want a nice resort where the kids can enjoy it without having to go too far because Im planning on doing alot the first few days. (Kids are 5 & 10)

We have only stayed at the values until now and we loved them (Sports and Music) but thinking of either staying at the Boardwalk Inn, Grand Floridian or Bay Lake Tower this time as a treat. (My 10 year old wants to stay in CR but too expensive, I dont want to spend more than the cost of BLT) What is the BLT like for kids? I would love to stay in Poly but also out of my price range. I think my fav would be the boardwalk but I know its the only one out of the 3 not next to the MK and no monorail. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Really dont know which to choose!

If you were looking for a nice place to relax for a few days, have you thought about the Yacht or Beach Club? The pool is great and I'm sure your kids would enjoy the pool. It is the best on property. Also, you are in close proximity to the Boardwalk, so you can still enjoy it. I think the Beach is the best geared to younger kids of the Deluxe resort. Sorry I didn't really answer your question.

Thanks so much for your reply, yes I was looking at the Beach Club actually but it was a little bit more expensive than the rest but still in my budget. The Yacht Club is the most expensive of all the resorts for our stay but I will have a proper look at the Beach Club now, thank you.

We aren't ones to choose our resort by transportation options, but in your case, I'd go with either GF or BLT since you are only staying 2 nights, with one of those nights being spent in MK. Staying on the monorail will be easy and less time consuming getting back to your resort after the party. With that said, all resorts are kid friendly and I think your kids will love any of them, but my choice would be the GF. We've never stayed at BLT or BWI, but we love the GF. The atmosphere is beautiful, the pools are nice, there's a new kids splash play area, and you have a variety of great dining options right at the resort. Good luck with your decision :wizard:.

Have you confirmed availability? Depending on when, what is available may be your best guide.

I agree the pools at YC/BC are great. I would see if you can get in there. If not, BLT is great as well with close proximity to MK plus you are a bridge away from CR so that might be a win for your kids. I also love that you are staying at Cabana Bay. I love CB. Staying there again in 2 weeks! Enjoy.

This is a toss-up between BLT and GF for me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BWI (my favorite resort actually), but based on your plans, particularly MNSSHP, it's not convenient, particularly if you are trying to give your kids a little down time, staying in the MK area will significantly cut your transportation time on MNSSHP night.

In terms of resorts, GF beats BLT hands down IMHO. It's gorgeous, has a ton of great amenities (the GF pool facilities are much better than BLT/CR's) and lots of restaurants to choose from. The only downside is transportation back to the resort after MNSSHP. Yes, there is the boat or monorail, but there may also be lines. BLT is absolutely the best location for late nights at MK. Forget transportation - simply walk back to your resort. We did a short weekend trip 2 years ago with MVMCP as our focus and we stayed in CR for that trip - it really made getting back to the resort late at night super simply.

So, for me it would come down to BLT or GF. I would decide what is more important to you - a fabulous resort or proximity to MK - and decide from there.

I recommend CR garden wing, which is the least expensive place to stay on the monorail, but still has the fabulous CR decor, and is in walking distance from MK. Loved our stay there this January.
