Where to stay pre-cruise Miami?

We rented a car and went to south beach and stayed at Loews. It was really nice, we enjoyed the beach and pools.

We are staying at the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North for our 2/18/18 cruise. I would have looked closer to the port but we don't land in Miami until 8:30pm. The price seemed reasonable and the transport in the morning was a nice perk. I will certainly report back on our stay. Just booked Super Shuttle from the port back to the airport on disembarkation morning.

I just booked the Residence Inn Miami airport. The AAA rate was less expensive than the Comfort Suites even with paying for the port shuttle. Free breakfast and more dinner options.

I'm considering a few options and would love some advice. My flight arrives in Miami at 2:30 PM and I sail the next day. Is the Holiday Inn at the port a good way to go? Or is it worth the much more expensive package that includes the Marriott and the Disney Cruise Line bus?

We stayed at the Doubletree Miami, and took Super shuttle from the airport. Its on the bay, and there is a small shopping center
attached with restaurants and shops. We booked the breakfast package on the Hilton website with one way transportation
to the port. We were there during the Miami Marathon and the city was packed. Some roads and bridges were closed early
morning but we had no problem getting the hotel van to the pier.

If we were going to get to Miami earlier I was going to stay in downtown Miami or bricknell. That way I would be closer to more options for dinner. Right now I am looking at food options at the Charlotte airport during our connection.

Depending on the number of people and ages Uber/Lyft would be the cheapest option from MIA to the downtown area. I heard good think about the Holiday Inn for the price and was considering it myself.

We really enjoy Disney's VB resort, and we almost always stay there for a night or two before a cruise out of Miami. We get an ocean view room, and when we're in the room, I imagine we're already on the cruise!

It's a drive to the port, not nearby, but it's what we do. Doing it again in January!

Searched and found this thread...how about if you're flying into Ft. Lauderdale airport? Best recommendations for a hotel/transportation to port?
