Where to stay for weekend?

Do you leave the DVC during Fri/Sat evening? If so, where do you stay?

I really can't see using up double and half points for these nites but I hate to move. I am hoping we can arrive Fri and just stay someplace and come home on Sunday.

We stayed at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas one time and found it to be clean, convenient (less than a mile from DTD) and a good value. We rented through Hotel Kingdom. We had a 2BR villa and I would reccommend it to anyone looking for more than just a hotel room. This year I stayed out on 192 Dec 29 am 30 to save points only because I had waited until the last minute to try to find a place for those nights. We were out almost to Route 27 but once I found the new road into Disney it was a really easy drive and I paid $123 total for the 2 nights. Could have stayed one night at Pop and one at CST for a total of $357 but decided I didn't want to move twice and we used the extra money for a couple of really nice meals. I know some people stay at the value resorts over the weekend and then have Disney move their luggage to DVC for them. You have a lot of options. I too don't like to use the extra points but if it is a low point time will stay the weekend since my DH does not like to change resorts. You may also find that the DU people have specials from time to time that would work for you. Good luck and hope you have a great trip.

Im going a wk in April, wk in Aug and wk in Nov this year - all Fri-Fri
April I booked Pop Fri & Sat, Sun switching to BCV till the following Fri
Aug DS & I are booked at Pop for the wknd then switching to VWL
Nov? well for now Im booked at the BCV member cash disc and the VWL rest of the time. That wknd is the last wknd for the Food & Wine. Hoping to change to BCV at the 7month window

Depending on our plans, we stay at the Swan/Dolphin; we've stayed at FW cabin before and we've also paid cash for Friday and Saturday night if Member discount were available so that we didn't have to move. That's what we'd prefer.
