Where to Stay for an October Trip

We are new members with 320 points a BLT. I'm considering taking a trip with my son (4) October 15-19. I called to check availability for a studio and BLT isn't available. I'm wondering what I should do. Is there another DVC I should try? Would it be better to stay at a Value or Moderate resort and pay cash (save my points)? Our entire family will be going December 17-23 and over Spring Break. We are already borrowing some 2010 points to help cover the SPring Break trip (our UY is September). Thanks for the help!

Would you rather pay cash or borrow more points? There may be a DVC studio available somewhere and you can always waitlist BLT. I would rather use my points than pay cash for a "more than one night" stay, so I"m usually heavily borrowed.
