During our last stay to WDW, we tried POR for the first time. While it was a nice place, we felt that it was very far from the snack places. We were told that POFQ was a lot smaller and closer to everything, so we are going to try that one.

Are we correct in picking POFQ over POR to have everything closer??

Also, since it would be our first time staying there, is there a particular location we should be requesting??

What else can you tell us about this place as well, good and bad.

Disneyfun1,

We've been to POFQ 3 times (just got back 2 weeks ago from our last trip), and never had a bad experience. It is a short walk no matter where you stay. We were in Bld. 1 which is further away than most Bld. to the food court, etc. and it still a very short walk to get there. If you want a Bld. close to the Food court and main bld. request Bld. 4, it is right next door.

As for the positives, the FQ is always the first stop for the buses, both coming, and going. There were even a couple of times where they went straight to the park after picking us up! If you have kids, the pool will be a big plus. My kids loved the serpant slide. The boat to downtown disney is also nice, although you get picked up second, you are dropped off first on the way back. The room size is OK. We have also stayed at the Contempory, and those rooms are huge, but for the money saved by staying at a mod. it isn't bad. The mods. all have coffee makers and small fridges now which is nice. You can request a king bed room if you'd like, but if you need two beds, you get doubles, which is the only thing I had to get used to, (we have a king at home, so the double felt REALLY small, but you get used to it.) I think you will have a wonderful time at FQ! Have fun! :)

You are so very correct in picking POFQ! Actually there is no wrong choice... but a better choice for what you are looking for. Everything is compact. But if you want a bldg more centralize, I would probably choose either bldg 5, 3 or 2 or 4. Try to be close to the "street" and the stairs (if you want to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor) rather than getting a room at the other end of the bldg away from the food court/bus stop. If you want to be near the elevator, then you will be in the middle of the bldg. Both ends have the stairs and you want to be near the stairs that is closer to the food court/bus stop.

You can read my thread on this resort with lots of pictures on POFQ. Here is the link. Link to my thread regarding POFQ with pictures... as well as Polynesian with pictures. POFQ trip review is on page 2 and the pixs are scattered through out my thread. Enjoy!

We just got back from FQ. We were in bldg. 4. There is no way we could have been any closer to the food court and bus stop.

we loved our building six location... close yet quiet and quaint... perfect!
