Where to stake our claim at water parks

We are going to both water parks and plan to get there at park opening both days. Where would be the best shady spot to park our stuff for the day. We have kids 3, 6, 8 and 11. We will need to spend some time at this location for snacking and resting during the day.

Our plan is to go to BB on Wed. June 2 and TL on Fri. June 4. How crowded do you think it will be?

Our favorite park is Blizzard Beach, so I can't comment on Typhoon Lagoon. But at BB, we love the wood decks that overlook the "lazy river". I think there are about a dozen or so decks available on a first come - first served basis.

They are about 10' x 20' wood decks, they have a picnic table and 3-4 longe chairs. They are fairly shaded and relatively private compared with the rest of the park.

You have to be among the first in the park to snag one of these spots! As soon as you enter, head for the nearest bridge that crosses the lazy river. We usually bear right past the lockers and take the first bridge on the left.

All the decks on on the inside perimeter of the lazy river. Grab the first one you like, settle in, then head out to get lockers, towels, mugs afterwards.

Steve gave you excellent advice. BB is our favorite park too, and those areas go very fast. So getting there first thing is the best thing you can do. There are tons of shady spots throughout if you can't snag one of the picnic table areas. Just make a decision fast or it'll be gone!
I'd also like to add, make sure you go on the family raft ride, Teamboat Springs!! Its a total blast and you'll laugh your head off the whole ride down. The one at TL is terrible, don't even stand in line for it. But the BB one, two thumbs up for the whole family!!!!!

We like an area at Typhoon Lagoon that's way over on the right side of the wave pool, near Typhoon Tillie's, and over the bridge from the body slides. Last time we got an almost private area underneath a lean-to near the pumps for the wave pool (These are hidden in a building). People walking by commented on our "oasis." It overlooked Castaway Creek.

Next question....Is there anywhere online that I could get a map of BB and TL so I can see where I'm running to when I make the mad dash with my crew...

The times I have gone to Disney we have been there around Christmas time and never had SUPER warm weather (or the time) to go to the water parks, so this September will be my first time. This trip it will be just DBF and myself. My question is....do people leave stuff lying around? For example...If DBF and I wanted to go on a ride together, what would we do with our towels, cover ups? Will we have to continually go back and forth to the lockers? How much do the lockers cost? I am normally pretty trusting of people and I know I would be the person that would just leave stuff lying on a chair, but with a place as big and busy as Disney I think I better keep my naievity in check Any suggestions??

Here is BB. We always go right ---- by the kids area.

If you look to the right of #11 towards the lazy river you will see a couple "pavillion". It is a dead end spot. We get there early, go directly to there and we have a covered picnic table and hold some lounge chairs. Another right next to it so you will share "space". But right at kids area - great.

We go the approx same spot at Typhoon Lagoon. Covered table with chairs and on the river. That one is great because we are totally alone. Everyone is always jealous....probably same spot as dgaston. It is also right where the tunnel to the other side is so easy to get anywhere.
