Where to sell Disney-related "stuff"....

Okay.... I don't mean to be cryptic, but I'm not sure how to word this. I am looking to sell something that someone might use to create their own "Carousel of Progress." I know that there are people who recreate rides and such in their homes, offices, garages, etc. I've seen it on You-Tube! On my last trip to Disney I noticed that my Mom owns something that is in one of the scenes on COP and I'm not sure where to try to sell this to find the right "buying audience" (i.e. Disney-philes).

Again, not trying to be cryptic here, but don't want to break any Dis-board rules and make it seem like I am trying to sell something here. Just looking for some direction. Thanks in advance..................P

Unusual items do present problems. The market will tend to be very small, and reaching them through the clutter of the Internet can be next to impossible. When I see people asking the value of an unusual item or asking how to sell it, the size of the piece can be a major obstacle because the shipping costs can often exceed the value of the piece itself.

The first option is to try to sell the piece yourself. If it's shippable at a reasonable cost, there's always eBay. Nearby Disney collector clubs like local chapters of the National Fantasy Fan Club (or whatever their current name is) usually have websites that will give you a place to start. Craigslist is another option, especially if the piece is large or heavy. The upside of this option is that you get the cash value of the item. The downside is the time and effort required.

The second option is to try finding Disney collectibles dealers online who sell similar items and ask them if they'd be interested. The upside is a quick sale, and the downside is you'll have to be prepared to accept about half of what the dealer expects the item to sell for.
