Where to purchase AAA membership

I read on another thread about purchasing AAA membership at Costco for $50. We don't have Costco here but I always thought you bought AAA membership from AAA which costs $70 or $80 bucks. For a 10% discount at say a value resort it is not that great of a deal for me. Now if I could buy one somewhere else cheaper I might do it. Where all can you buy a AAA membership?

but I always thought you bought AAA membership from AAA which costs $70 or $80 bucks.

Why not just call your local AAA and ask? I pay that for the AAA plus..the regular is less. I get discounts besides the Disney room..and of course the AAA benefits.
I think there is a coupon in the entertainment book too.

Here are the prices for my local AAA:

Standard Membership $50
Associate Membership $28
Plus Membership $75
Associate Plus Membership $48

I think AAA is worth every penny but not for a 10% discount at a value resort, its for ALL the discounts it gives you on top of the primary reason to buy it which is emergency road side assistance, for any car the member is in. AAA also provides discount tickets to many attractions including wdw (although i think a few online places are cheaper) and free maps and guidebooks.

To find a AAA office try the phone book, or online at www.aaa.com they have 2 levels of membership regular and plus, the plus extends the coverage on some of the road side services like towing so if your only getting it for discounts just buy the regular membership.

Someone posted some decent triple A rates in the last few days, I remember one of them was deluxes for 189.00 and that included tax (probably WL or AKL) but I am not sure. I think values were $69 and mods around $79 from what I remember

And don't forget if you take that AAA card to Universal, you get 10% off all restaurant and store purchases. Another nice perk i didn't know the first time i went there.

I went on-line at www.aaa.com and signed up that way - this was after I got stranded at work - everyone else had left - it was 11:30 at night -- SO was asleep and didn't hear the phone -- and I had to change a flat tire. The discount at All Star Sports was just an extra - just to keep from having to pay rack rates!

Tip

Buy the plus membership, The standard membership only covers a 5 mile tow, after that it could be $75.00 and $XXX a mile. The plus plan covers a 100 mile tow, Trust me you dont need an expesive tow bill while you have AAA std plan .

PS. How far do you think the nearest dealer or garage is from your house or even worse the nearest dealer or garage to Disney property, Heck it could be 5 miles to just get off the property.

AAA has a show your card and save program. In one trip to the outlet mall near here I saved the cost of my membership.

I buy it for the excellent emergency road service and the extras are a perk. I also have plus. If you have any teenage drivers they are free for several years. Since it covers you and not the cars it is great.

I used to work for AAA. Not only is the road side assistance a blessing, (get plus!) you can have gas delivered if you run out on the side of the road, your car unlocked if you lock them in the car and so much more. Also if you book a Disney vacation through AAA there is a AAA lounge in Tomorrow Land you can use. It has free soda and is air condtioned.

We received info in the mail about joining a few months ago. I think I pitched it! It had the second person free! Do you think if I sign up now I could get that same deal? If not, is it important to have the spouse on it too? I guess if I am driving my car, I need to have it...DUH!! tee hee!

check to see if your employer offers a discount...I work for a county gov't and my plus rate was $8 less/yr than dh's when we were both single. When we got married my family rate was $15 less per year than his (we looked into the costco/bj discounts, mine is still better)...for plus of course, regular is a waste of money.

It must depend on your AAA office. Ours were considered associates..and we paid about 1/2 price for them.

I have AAA but have never used it for my hotel as I've always thought you had to put up with WDTC terms, not CRO.
When I saw the post about getting great rates through AAA I decided to call today and see what the deal was. For one thing, you go through CRO which I was relieved to hear. We are going October 13 which is regular season and staying at the Poly. The price for rack was $383, tax included. My new rate using AAA is $344, tax included for a savings of $352 for my entire stay. Not bad for a phone call. I have also never used my DC for room discounts as I know you have to go through WDTC to do it but what percentage do we get using the DC?
