We are new to DVC and would like to go to Europe with our three kids. Questions:
Which resort also has kids activities for down time?
Any suggestions on where to start?
Is it better to go in the summer or Feb vacation?

Also, anyone have experience with peanut allergies while overseas? pixiedust:

Hi - let us know more about what type of things you would like to do in Europe. Would it be beach, site-seeing, or a bit of both? It is a huge place. In February you would not get good weather. Which months in Summer are you considering? If you want sunshine without the crowds, May, June or September would be best. Let me know what you are looking for, so i can advise.

Airfare in February is a lot cheaper than summer airfare to Europe. If you like to ski, you may try some of the ski destinations. If you want warmer weather in February, I would look for Italy or Spain with the understanding that it can still be cold, just not as cold as northern Europe.

We took a cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Istanbul, Turkey. We really want to go back to Italy. It has beautiful cities and some great museums and WORLD sites such as Pisa and Florance. It all depends on what you are looking for. Our favorite European vacation was touring the UK for two weeks.

I'd start with the DVC II web site link and see what countries are available and then research what sites are nearby that you will want to visit.

Hi...regarding the peanut allergy - both my DD and myself are allergic to all nuts and peanuts and while I have lived in Europe (Germany), I was not allergic at that time. I can say though that peanuts are not as prevalent (same for peanut butter) though allergies there are on the rise too. If there is a language difficulty, I would be cautious about making the situation known in restaurants (have a fluent speaker write something on a piece of paper that you can hand to waitstaff). Also, I don't believe that the labeling law for food exists in Europe - they don't have to declare ingredients as specifically as they do here so it might be tricky to discern what may have nuts. I would talk to you allergist specifically.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Cinderella
I thought site seeing in the am and beach in the pm. I am thinking that either we go in Feb and go skiing or wait until the last week in June and have the warm weather. I thought spain would be good since my kids are pretty good in Spanish. jkcruiser

Disney Paris. Combine some Disney with a trip to France.
