Where to go for a Birthday Dinner?

I had dinner at Jiko for my 17 birthday last year. I'm also a picky eater, but there is something for everyone at Jiko- they have a dish consisting of filet mignon and mac and cheese for goodness sakes:goodvibes. I was very happy with my choice, and can't wait to go back.

Steak and mac n' cheese? Am I reading that right? Hmm, I think I do need to looki into Jiko more... I love my mac n' cheese (and with a good steak? wow, that would be nice!).

Any other suggestions are also welcome. I have considered Ohana, but not sure about that in terms of the menu.

I suggest that you consider the Brown Derby at the Studios as long as you are planning to be at the parks that day. My DW and I have dined there many times and have enjoyed it every time. It is not as expensive as some of the signature restauarants.

The best time for an ADR is the last seating of the night and try for a booth. The best part after the great food is walking out of the almost deserted park afterward. :goodvibes

P.S. I almost forgot to add that you should mention that you are celebrating a birthday when you make your ADR and be sure to get a birthday button at the MK City Hall. The CM's will be wishing you a "Happy Birthday" all day long.

Go to Coral Reef. You can have your menu customized to say Happy Birthday! A diver can also hold up a sign that says Happy Birthday.

I was very nervous about our ADR for Jiko before we went in October. Many times I was about to dial up and change it to something else. Something with more familiar foods, and a little less scary. The menu online didn't appeal to me, but I'd heard so many good things about it.

We went and I LOVED it! I got the fillet and had the mac and cheese on the side. The Taste of Africa was also wonderful and much more 'normal' than I thought it'd be.

My point is, it was REALLY good, and I was very surprised that I liked it.

It has a very nice somewhat formal atmosphere, but it's not over the top fancy like Victoria and Albert's.

Thanks for the suggestions, all! I make ADRs this week, so if anyone has any last minute suggestions, please let me know! Thanks! :wizard:

If you don't like seafood I wouldn't go to Coral Reef. I wasn't impressed with their non-seafood choices.

If you are not worried about the price points at Cali Grill then I would consider either the Artist Point (at your hotel) or Jiko. I think either of these would be perfect for a birthday dinner

When we went to California Grill, we stuck to just flatbreads and dessert (I couldn't even get dessert, I was just too full). We're not heavy eaters by any means, and we definitely are cost cautious at TS restaurants; can't afford not to be. Thanks for the advice!

Anyone else have some suggestions? ADR day is November 16th.
