Where to get discount park hopper tickets?

It does say that tix are only for conventioneers and their family and friends, so I guess if asked we say we are friends with people at the convention? Has anyone done this before?

A lot of people on here has got these tickets and used them.

The tickets look like they're good for three days before and three days after whatever convention you say you're going to...... You might want to check on that.

So where do you find out about the conventions?

We're not going to be there until Oct. 17th.

Ok, so let me make sure I understand because this seems like a really good deal that I want to take advantage of!! The ticket info says:
"Valid for the number of days on ticket for three (3) days prior to specified convention date for a total of 14 consecutive day period. Dates vary according to convention." Soooo, since the convention date is 9/30/08, I shouldn't have a problem using these tickets 10/2-10/6 right?

Yes... I just purchased the 3 day park hoppers for our stay Oct. 6-10 and the tickets arrived. They are no different than regular tickets, they don't say Gay Days on them or anything like that, not that I'd mind, but some were worried. I saved $140 dollars by buying these tickets and they were in my mailbox 5 days after I bought them.

NOTE- my tickets say on the bottom, valid from 9/30 to 10/13 so not the 14th. Not sure why, so check it out like QueenBB said if you are going on or around the 14th...

Just fyi, it looks like, for right now anyway, that it is actually a little cheaper to buy them in advance off Disney's website. The price is the same, but GAT has a $10 fee, so I guess it really depends on how many passes you are buying, and how quickly you need the passes. Although, I still think ARES travel is a bit cheaper. They do have you print vouchers at home now, which is kind of a hassle because you have to go to the Will Call to get your passes. I'm not sure whether or not this is true everywhere (I believe it is because my agent went through the central office), but if you're a AAA member you can still get the hoppers at the old price--the one before the rate increase in August--through the end of the year. They were about $5 less per ticket, I think, with no shipping charge. You get the actual plastic hopper pass. You can also add character meal vouchers if you like.

The tickets MUST be used on 9/30/2008 or they will expire. If you bought park hopper tickets, then the remaining days must be used within 13 days of 9/30, but you must START the visit on 9/30.

We aren't going to be there until 10/11, so the tickets we bought are useless.

I was told to email Ticketinquiries@DisneyOnline.com to ask for a refund.

My tickets don't say that at all. They say valid 9/30/08 thru 10/13/08. GAY DAYS don't start until 10/3!!! How could that be true. You must check your info. There is no way this is true!

How would you start your vacation 9/30 and then stay until 10/13? What about all the people who bought these for Gay Days which starts 10/3? I am freaking out right now! Please tell us where you heard this!!!

The website and the email confirmation don't say anything about restictions on dates. The only information given is this:

"Park Hopper® tickets purchased online expire 13 days after first use and each day of use of a Park Hopper® ticket constitutes one full day of use."

The tickets actually say the exact same thing on them. However, right at the top, they also say:

"EXPIRES THIRTEEN (13) DAYS AFTER: 9/30/2008"

I called Guest Services at (714) 781-4400 and asked what this meant. The lady there told me that the start of our trip must occur by 9/30/2008 or they will expire.

Since I am not going until 10/11, this means these tickets will be no good. She told me to email Ticketinquiries@DisneyOnline.com to ask for a refund.

The tickets also say they are non-refundable, so I think we are going to be out a ton of money.

No where on the site does it mention this information, so beware.

I have spoken to three people about this an no one was able to look up my exact purchase BUT all three confirmed I can use the tickets when I plan to.

The tickets I bought and received are your basic everyday Parkhoppers. The only difference between these tickets and any other is that these say:

(Exact wording) Valid 09/30/08 thru 10/13/08

There is no disclaimer with the word "expire" in it printed on my ticket.

Because that's when they expire! The tickets are valid for use from 9/30 to 10/13 so you have to use them between those dates and no others. They expire on 10/13. What part of that is confusing to you? You plan to use the tickets starting 10/11, which falls between those days, and end on, what? the 13th? The only problem you should have is if you want to use the tickets on the 14th.

Does anyone know where I can go to buy discount park hopper tickets for Disneyland and California Adventure?

I am a DVC member if that helps. I don't need an annual pass, just tickets for 3-4 days. We are going Oct 11-15 2008.

I have not checked it out yet, but apparently the Disney Outlet in Anaheim sells them. I saw a sign on the door. I would be interested to find out how much they are.

When you purchase tickets through GAT you give them your email and they send you a confirmation that you print out and take to the parks. All you need when at the ticket booths is the card you paid for your tickets with and a drivers license. GAT also sends you a confirmation in the post mail you you can also take to the park insted of your printed out at home confirmation. Both work just fine. The tickets you purchase through GAT is electronic and the info from GAT gets sent to Disney. If there is any hassle Disney calls GAT to confirm and hands you your paper tickets. Really easy.

I mean you can purchase the tickets from GAT the day you leave on your trip. As long as you have printed out confirmation, your set.
