I noticed last time we were in WDW that the prices were outrageous at the Disney stores at Downtown Disney. Where can I go for less expensive stuff?

If you want it before you go.....I got really nice (Fisher Price) stuffed animals (Donadl, Goofy, Minnie, Ariel, Belle and Mickey) at Walmart for .99...I think they were getting rid of them after Christmas but they are regular price $6.95 I think...still cheaper then the parks. Disney Stores have great sales on tee shirts and pjs. I bought some great shirts (Tink, Minnie, Jojo, and Mickey) a couple of weeks ago and the pjs were also on sale. I also saw cute nightlights, and summer toys that had Mickey and Princess on them at the Dollar Store. Walmart carries Disney themed clothing for kids. Also check out the LAST CHANCE section on Disney Direct...they have some really great sales. Ebay has a Disney Auction site as well.Prices are good but shipping can get expensive. I bought lots of stuff that I am going to bring down with me......I will give it to the kids while we are there. I am sure we will still buy other things but at least we will have some new Dinsey shirts Pjs and stuffed toys so this should keep DD happy!!! I dont know of any place in Fl if you meant to buy stuff while you were there. We never leave the parks...sorry. Have a great vacation!

Walmart, Disney Store (I have seen same things they have in parks for dollars less), Dollar Store, FL flea markets, Ebay (my favorite for bargains)

I have a tentative plan to visit the Orlando Premium Outlets one afternoon while we are there. Since we don't have a car, we will taxi from DTD... It's the closest outlet and there is a Disney outlet there. I have also purchased some gifts and souvenirs at the traveling Disney outlet that recently was in our area temporarily. Love to find a bargain! :goodvibes

We went to Belz to the Character Premier and got a tshirt selling in the parks for 19.99 got it for 9.99. Worth the trip. You would probably need a rental car or take a taxi (make eat up all the savings) also the lynx buses run there. You can look at their web site. Transfer to International Drive Trolly.

definitely the outlets - we hit the Belz and it was great. Plan to try Belz and at least one other one this time. Some of the same stuff as park but cheaper. Great place to pick up gifts for people.

I was looking for personalized Disney shirts online and could only find Disney Inkshop and if I did 4 shirts it was going to be $100. Does anyone else know a personalized site with Disney art that's a little cheaper? I'm thinking of trying to print my own iron ons on the 'puter and making my own, but I'm kind of scared...

A couple of suggestions. First, I was just checking the disneydirect.com site last night, and they have a pretty good selection of personalized t-shirts on sale. You choose from a couple different selections of artwork and can then personalize w/your family name, event or whatever.

For our April trip, I did make our own t-shirts. I bought transfer paper and plain white t-shirts at Wal-Mart, and used the designs here http://www.magicalears.com/clipart/. They turned out really cool!

Good luck!

I checked the website for the Premium Outlets and it still lists the Characater Premier in their list of stores. I hope that it hasn't closed, I got some really great deals there like a photo album for $8 and shirts for $10.

We were there in March, and it was open. There is also another outlet right before Belz, on the left side of I-Drive. Lots of Disney stuff there, too.

The beltz mall at ST>. Augustine had some good stuff. We were there two days ago and they had figment stuff that was adoravle and charms bracelets for 99 cents and [postcards for 19 cents. They also had ride shirts and other stuff, Thought the prices were good on most stuff we looked at.

Both Character Warehouse and Character Premeir at Belz are open and great places to get discount Disney merchandise.

I have not been to the Orlando premium outlets lately , so I can't tell you if the Character Premier is still open there.

Most stuff is out of season, like winter stuff in spring, valentine stuff after valentines day, etc. but at 50-70% off, who cares.

I have been able to get current park merchandise there at a savings too, but that's rare.

The 4 Disney outlets in Orlando are the best place to get WDW park merchandise and clothing at big discounts.

Go to this page for maps, directions, and hours for all 4 outlets:

I bookmarked your site! That will come in handy for my September trip! I plan to rent a car for two days and tour the outlets (not just the disney ones!)

Thanks Nancy! I'll try it, the clipart link you sent is great! :cheer2:

Everytime I'm in Orlando, i check all the outlets and have found that they are steadily increasing their prices due to the exposure they are getting! In 2001, I was able to find golf shirts, at all the Belz and OPO, for around $12.00, now my last visit at Christmas the golf shirts are up to $39.99. They have seen everyone here talking about it and have raised prices!! There were still some toy closeouts, snowglobes and housewares Deals, but not much else. The outlet store in the mall at the other end of SR535, turned into a mixed store of some Universal,WB, and Disney.
The best DEAL I found was at Wal Mart, they had shirts from $5.00 up, toys , towels, trinkets... Of course their shirts say Florida-Disney or character names, nothing that said WDW. W bought shirts to take home for gifts, and some character merchandise for Christmas gifts. :confused3 ::MickeyMo
