Do they still exist? I just checked the Best Buy website - everything is Vista.
Long story short, I have software that won't be compatible (I checked - they were very specific that it would NOT work) with Vista - has to be Windows XP Professional.
I am looking for a desktop - am hoping not to have to wait for something to be shipped. I am going to start calling local stores. Maybe someone has one in the back room

I honestly don't remember ever seeing XP Pro OEM in a store. It was always XP Home, and you had to buy an upgrade. I always by online, so honestly never paid much attention.
I have XP Pro installed on my Mac and it runs just fine.
you can buy any PC you want and reformat the hard drive. then buy an OEM version of XP and install it. if you don't want to do that, follow Charade's advice.
I'd build my own PC or have one built for me before ever buying one from a store lke Best Buy/Circuit City. they sell Dells in Wal-mart now.
I just went through the same thing. But if you actually go to/call a particular store, they might have something other than Vista even though the website says they don't. That's what I found when I was searching a few weeks ago. The sales people showed me the computers without Vista....of course there weren't many.
I ended up customizing a Toshiba online and they offered XP so they are out there.
I guess I should have specified - I need it to be cheap & super easy! I know very little about this stuff - I just want to buy it, plop it in the office & be done.
