Where to find Birthday Button

Hello, we will be DHS for my son's 5th birthday on September 11. When we were at Disneyworld for my older son's birthday 6 years ago we got a birthday button for him when we checked in to AKL. He wore it the whole trip and had so many pixie dust moments I'm hoping to repeat the experience for my younger son. However, this trip we are not staying onsite. We're planning to rope-drop that day to sign up for Jedi training. Is there anywhere in DHS that we can get a birthday button for him?

Random tangential question - anyone know if a "first date" button exists? I wonder how the CMs would react. I'm not a "button" person, but I wondered if this one existed recently.

Nope
But you could get a Celebrating button and write first date on it. Or get a first visit, cross out the visit and replace it with date (though you would probably still be congratulated on the first visit since not many will take the time to read it)

Interesting, like I said, I'm not a button wearer, but with anniversaries, weddings, etc. I wondered if WDW went one step further. I wonder how the cast members would respond to such should they notice. Someone out in Dis board lands will have to try it and report back.

They wouldn't care at all. You could either ask for the button and write it yourself or usually the CM will write it and include a little mickey head outline.

People customize their buttons all the time. I've seen "Im Celebrating just divorced", "I'm celebrating graduating", "I'm celebrating at Disney"

The ones I like to see are people beating cancer...gets me right in the feels. Everyone has birthdays and first dates, I wish everyone could beat cancer...but not get cancer obviously, that'd be terrible.

Yeah I saw a lady decked out in pink at WDW celebrating a milestone - pink tutu, pink ears, pink shirt, her birthday button said, "Celebrating my 1st Trip Cancer-Free!"

We made brief eye contact, I smiled , pointed at my button and then pointed at her, and pumped my fist in her direction to cheer her on! :) She was surrounded by happy family members so I hope she had a great time!

Maybe I am misunderstanding you but personally I had a lot of CMs react to our celebration pin. They do read them if it is possible or ask you what is that you are celebrating.
Whatever way you customize your button, they will ask and react :)

We just got back- guest relations had them. Also saw table on Main Street one morning

Seems every person wearing button- entire families with first visit, lots of birthdays and anniversaries!

I meant it as in the CM's won't care if you customize the pin. As they'll let you put whatever you want on it. Not that they won't acknowledge the pin in the park

It wasn't intended when we first started planning this trip...but now our upcoming visit will be celebrating not only Halloween (our first MNSSHP!) and my older son's 13th birthday (very special--he's an infant heart surgery survivor) but also my mom's successful battle with breast cancer, caught very early, thank god. (And my dad's recovery from spinal surgery, as far as it goes. Whew. It's been one of those years....)
