UPDATE
a wonderful CM gave her generic claritin at the first aid station...no charge! Love Disney for taking care of her

Hi folks,
My DD is in MK today and her allergies are crazy. Her group is not staying onsight so she can only be in MK today. She can't go to any park hotels I don't think. I was wondering if anyone knows where she could get some sudafed or claritin in MK. Can she buy this at First aid or in the gift shops?

I can probably get some overnighted to her from Amazon to her hotel but I wanted to check here first cuz if the disboard doesn't know nobody knows!:rotfl:

I posted on the family board but I don't think anyone knows me up there and my black lab picture expired!

I'd tell her to go to first aid and see if they have a small packet to buy.

My dad had a terrible allergy attack while we were in the MK and I am pretty sure First Aid only had Benedryl. Hope your DD is feeling better soon :)

I called her and left a message to do that and to see if the gift shop had any (suggested by the family board) Hopefully she can get something today and then I can send her a box of claritin tonight from amazon.

She's marching in Spectromagic tonight for her marching band. She thinks she can still play her flute with a runny nose;)

At least that would give her some relief although I wonder if that would make her drowsy
I hope your dad was alright

My DD, who has terrible allergies, doesn't get drowsy from benedryl. It works better for her for quick relief than her claritin. Hopefully she will be too excited by being in MK to get sleepy from the benedryl.

Did she check w/ the adults w/ the group. Maybe they have something, and could call you to verify that it is OK to give to her.

Her group has a rule that the chaperones can't give the kids anything. Her chaperone is a friend of mine but that doesn't matter even though I tried to give permission. SHe is on the ferry right now and she sounds ALOT better. I think being in MK will be a cure-all:) It is the first time she has gone on a big trip like this and she is pretty excited about marching in spectomagic tonight:cloud9:

If she's like most teens..and most adults, too, I'd guess...Benadryl won't make her sleepy if she stays active and busy! That will be easy in MK! I hope she has a wonderful time!

(and isn't the chaperone can't give a kid medicine rule awful? I had a girl with a horrible headache at an after school event and couldn't even give her one Tylenol. Luckily, I was able to talk to her mom who gave permission, but it was a gray area and I still am glad she had no wonky reaction. I was her favorite person that day for saving her from her headache!)

I hate that rule too...for the few that would abuse the rule everyone else has to suffer. We tried to think of everything she would need but it didn't cross my mind that her allergies would act up there. I didn't think the pollen would be bad this time of year in FL:confused:
