Where to find a cover for the Kindle?

over at kindleboards.com they have some really creative people - some make covers from household items - they cut a plastic folder to fit - and I think someone used a USPS bubble wrapped mailer for protection -

now for me? Instead of spending $$$ on books - I put it into a cover - a leather Oberon cover - and I love it, I love that smell, the feel, and I love the artistry of the cover :goodvibes
I also bought a purse that fit my kindle/cover in (it is a fossil purse they used it in the Kindle commercial!) DD uses a hipster coach bag to fit hers in...

I have to agree with you - even though the covers are $70 (and up), they are works of art. http://www.oberondesign.com/ I wish I had not already purchased my Kindle cover from amazon.

I ordered the $6.95 one on Amazon that was suggested. I ordered it on the 29th and it came today! Super fast shipping and I am very happy with it!

To be fair, the $50 ones that plug into your Kindle and provide a reading light are really really nice. I have a red one for my Kindle keyboard from last year. It's nice sturdy leather and it's convenient to have the light handy whenever I want it. It's a nice slim design too, rather than having a big bulky light out the back with a separate battery to charge and such.

That being said if you don't want the light, just go with whatever PP's have said that is cute and cheap. ;)

Be careful with the lighted cases. My son broke 2 cases in a row (this was on a Kindle keyboard that was purchased early this year, not the newer models). Somehow he must have kept putting his hand behind the Kindle instead of on the back of the case (this is all I can figure anyway) and broke off the tabs that are on the side of the case. The second time the tab actually got stuck inside the Kindle. Amazon was awesome and replaced both the Kindle and the case. For most people, this would not be a problem, but just a caution.

My DH just got the Kindle Touch and the new lighted case ($59!!!!!!) and the light didn't work. A replacement is on the way. But I notice, the Kindle connects to the case in a different way than my son's did - it connects at the top, I think.
