Where would you recommend eating while inside the park and outside. We will be staying at HOJO in December for 5 nights.

Inside Disneyland The Blue Bayeau Restaurant is the most popular and you have to book early, I think you can book online. It is expensive though...

Carnation cafe is also popular likewise you have to book.

If you are staying at HoJOs there are number of restaurants and takeaways on the way back to Hotel, there is a MacDonalds, and a Pizza/chicken takeaway on the grounds of the Tropicana Hotel they usually have a sign out on the pavement. There is "Minnies" Restaurant just before your hotel, have heard good things about that.

There is also a Tony Romas and Dennys if thats your sort of thing, you can see them from the crosswalk.

These are all counter service:

Inside DL: French Market, Riverbelle Terrace, Redd Rockets Pizza Port.

Inside DCA: Pacific Warf Cafe, Corn Dog Castle, and Whitewater Snacks (inside the GCH)

Outside the parks: The place next to the HoJo is called Mimi's Cafe, not "Minnie's". Mimi's is AWESOME to order from and take back to your room. There is another restaurant next door called "Millie's", but I haven't heard good things about it. There is also a McDonalds on your walk to the park on Harbor.

I also highly recommend Mimi's. We would call them from the parks and put our names on the seating list and by the time we got there we did not have to wait more than 3 minutes. Their portions are huge! My boys love their kids meals as well. You can get breakfast all day there as well. Last time we were there we got a meal to go. I ordered breakfast for dinner and they by mistake made me (2) meals. I had breakfast the next morning. If you order a salad, you get a huge muffin that I have saved for the next morning as well.

In the parks people have listed all of the really good places. Keep reading reviews though. Mouseplanet.com has reviews of places to eat at Disneyland as well.

Last week we ate really good during our trip. We ate at Riverbelle Terrace, Red Rocket's, House of Blues, Storyteller's character breakfast and Whitewater Snacks. We did not have a bad meal while we were there.
The trip in Jan. we had good meals at Carnation Cafe, Rainforest Cafe and Goofy's Kitchen.

Definitely Mimi's outside the park. Huge portions, reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. You will walk right past it on your way to and from the parks.

Inside the parks, there are all sorts of counter service options. My families favorites are: Plaza Inn, great fried chicken, big portions that can be easily shared. They have a character meal here in the morning with Minnie and Friends that you do have to make reservations for. We also enjoy Ranch de Zocalo for Mexican food, and Redd Rockets for pizza, salad and pasta. There is a corn dog wagon at the end of Main Street, we have gotten corn dogs there while we see the parade. Coke Corner is also good for hot dogs and has a nice seating area outside. The Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street has great baked goods all day long and sandwiches at lunch and dinner.

In California Adventure, we like Taste Pilots Grill for burgers and ribs and Corn Dog Castle for corn dogs.

For full service meals, Blue Bayou is good, pricey but fun to experience due to basically being inside the Pirates Ride. We have frequently eaten at the Carnation Cafe on Main Street, it has soups, sandwiches and salads for lunch and except for the tip isn't much more expensive than counter service. Cafe Orleans is a new counter service that is in New Orleans Square. Those three are the only full service restaurants (except for the private Club 33) inside Disneyland.

We also enjoy all the character meals. Goofy's Kitchen is our favorite for dinner (at the Disneyland Hotel) and we also enjoy the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at Paradise Pier. If you have princess fans, Ariels Grotto in DCA serves lunch and dinner with the princesses. And Minnie and Friends have breakfast each morning inside Disneyland. There is also the Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian that has breakfast with Chip, Dale and the Brother Bear bears (Koda and Kenai).

If you click on the brown dining link at the top of this page, you can see lots of information on dining at Disneyland, DCA, Downtown Disney and the resort hotels. And you cannot make reservations online, but rather can call up to 60days out to make "priority seatings". That number is: 714-781-3463.

Here is another great link for Disneyland dining information:

Good luck, have fun planning your trip!

There are some great places to eat in Downtown Disney, Rainforest Cafe, Brennan's, and more. Check those out too.

Have fun

I highly recomend the crab omelet at Mimi's. It is SOOOOO good!

In the park we really like carnation cafe on main street for breakfast or Cafe Orleans. Pizza port is pretty good for pasta (mixed reviews for the pizza). The corndogs from the little red truck on main street or the chowder in a bread bowl from the royal street veranda are both good for smaller meals.

Seems as tho Tortilla Joe's has a walk up window now in DTD and the prices were great.

We're Mimis junkies ;) You totally have to go. It's reasonably priced, and YUMMY! Love their french toast! Also, love the corn chowder w/5 way grilled cheese. Among many other things LOL, but those are my (super cheap!) comfort foods

In the park...I could eat there for a week and not get bored (insert piggy smiley!). My personal favorites are the corn chowder in a bread bowl at the pier and the pilot place next to Soarin.

Does anyone kow if they do chili in a bread bowl? I dont like chowder so at home I do chili or baked potato soup in a bowl..

The Golden Horshoe has chili in a breadbowl. And the Royal Street Verandah has steak or vegetable gumbo in a breadbowl. The Riverbelle Terrace has vegetable stew in breadbowls.

In DCA the Pacific Wharf cafe has vegetarian chili, broccolli cheese soup or corn chowder all served in a breadbowl.

I got those off the menus on allearsnet.com I have eaten the chili at the Golden Horshoe and broccolli cheese at Pacific Wharf and they were both very good!

Those menus were all updated in April of this year so that should be pretty accurate.

My favorite place to eat anywhere in the resort is the Bengal Barbecue, across from Indiana Jones and the Jungle Cruise. Its counter service but the food is great. They serve barbeque chicken and beef shishkbobs with a tangy polynesian sauce. We always eat there for our first lunch at the park. A few years ago we got a recepie for the maranades and sauces. Killer meal to make at home when friends come over.

We didn't eat at many places but we did enjoy:

~DL: Bengal Barbecue (delicious beef skewers) & the Blue Bayou (really enjoyed the jambalaya & DH really liked his Monte Cristo)

~DCA: for a quick lunch we stopped at Award Wieners & it was really good. Better than we expected it to be. The service was awesome as well.

~We loved our breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen (Disneyland Hotel). The kids had a blast & the food was great too.

~We had appys one evening at the Rainforest Café in Downtown Disney & it was pretty good. Good atmosphere.

We were very disappointed in everything we ate outside of the parks.

If you're on a budget and have kids and aren't looking for anything fancy, the IHOP is a great place. Last summer kids ate free with each paid adult meal. Can't beat that! Besides, my kids love the place and we eat there every year. We give them the choice of where to eat dinner the first night, and this is what they always choose.
