Where to eat in Epcot?

We plan on being there on a Sunday night to go and see Pam Brody at Rose and Crown from about 4-6. So we are looking for a 6:00 table.for dh, me and dc's ages 8 and 4. Anyone want to weigh in on Epcot dining for us?

Canada- can't get into, but i'm okay with that- not my fave
Akershus- can't get into.
Rose and Crown- prefer not to eat there
Marakesh- i like the idea of the show, but not sure my kids will be into the cuisine.
Tepanyaki- hate to pay that much for something we can do right here at home at a really good place as well
China- feel the same way, great chinese in NYC
Italy- would like to try but not on dining plan so i have a hard time swallowing the prices


So that leaves:
Chefs of France which we have never eaten at so this sort of intrigues me
Biergarten- same thing, never eaten, like the show idea, like the menu but not thrilled with sitting with the same people
Mexico- used to really like it, then it stunk, now hearing it is better

Any thoughts- am i missing anything that i should be thinking of?

The only other place I can think of is Coral Reef, but that is all the way over in The Seas pavilion, so I don't know if you want to walk that far.

We would choose San Angel Inn, we loved it.

If choosing today, I'd go back to San Angel Inn, we really liked it there. My 2nd choice would be Les Chefs, and third would be Rose & Crown. Biergarten -- definitely a take it or leave it, in my opinion. Here's my reviews of the various places, including Rose & Crown...pictures included.

Biergarten: don’t have any pictures. Food was OK to Good, a little less variety than we would have liked. Thought there was less dessert choices than most Disney buffets, but what they had was good. We did NOT have a good experience with the strangers we were sat with: was 3 of us (husband, me & 20 yr. old daughter.) Family of 3 was sat with us - dad & his two 20-something daughters. They were all friendly & chatty UNTIL the waitress brought our beers. They then appeared horrified that people were going to be drinking BEER in the BEER Garden. Guess they didn’t realize there was that possibility. Gave us the uber-cold shoulder after that. Final couple to be sat at our table was an elderly couple who were terrified of the rest of us…they actually pulled their chairs to the end of the table (sticking out in the aisle…waitress had to insist they move them back because no one could get through) They took their flatware, drinks & napkins with them each time they went to the buffet…apparently they suspected their tablemates would lick their forks & spit in their drinks while they were gone if they left their stuff at the table, lol. However, we know two other parties who had a wonderfully entertaining & enjoyable time with strangers, so it’s just luck of the draw who you sit with.

Another set of options would be at the Epcot resorts...walking through the International Gateway it's not that far to get to Beach Club & Boardwalk places.

I would definitely eat at Les Chefs de France..it is one of our favorite restaurants. We really disliked San Angel Inn (liked the atmosphere, hated the food) and Biergarten (liked the show, wasn't impressed with any of the food, and disliked sitting with strangers.)

If you could get an earlier time (5PM), I'd say Chefs de France so you could see the Remy animatronic.

I have not been to Biergarten, but I preferred Chefs de France to San Angel Inn. It certainly wasn't bad - I just really wasn't that impressed. On the same trip we ate at the cantina and I thought the food there was actually better...only half the price. I think Chefs is a good deal if you are on the dining plan - they have a variety of options and, in my experience, the food was tasty and the server was knowledgeable and attentive. I would definitely go back.

Every trip we hit San Angle, Coral Reef and Chef de France and really like these places. We always get hopper park passes because we always seem to be at EPCOT for Dinner,

Sorry I mis-read your statement. I thought you said that Tutto was not on the DP
but you are not on the DP. DP is well worth the cost you don't have to worry about cost
since it's prepaid.

Tutto Italia--Italy is on the DP it is only 1 TS credit.
We thought this was the best TS that we've ever ate at WDW,
very authentic Italian and the service was very good.
I going to try and get Tutto ADR again this upcoming trip and my
DS wants to try Chef de France.

San Angel Inn was one of the best meals on my last trip!!! The food was all fantastic and, of course, the atmosphere is gorgeous! Biergarten is also a family favorite. The food, atmosphere, and show are all really good. Haven't been to Chefs so can't comment on that. If the decision was mine it would be San Angel Inn hands down!!!

We are also from NY and would not choose Teppan Edo, Nine Dragons or Tutto Italia for the exact same reasons you stated. We enjoyed Rose and Crown 4 years ago, but it seems to be slipping, and most of the dishes we really liked have been removed from the menu. Marrakesh has a kids menu, and the atmosphere is gorgeous, but when we dined there several years ago, we were not impressed with the food; it was just very disappointingly bland. It has been getting better reviews lately, so we may put it on our list again someday, but not rushing back.

We LOVE Chefs de France, so much that it is one of our few "must-dos" this trip. The bifstek au poivre is just wonderful, and the service, impeccable! We also really enjoy Biergarten, lots of fun, but we're not so crazy about the table sharing situation, and would choose sit-down over buffet almost every time. We haven't been to San Angel in a very long time, but can't wait to go back in July. I'd say of these 3, go with the one whose menu has the most mouth-watering effect for you.

The only place on which I can comment is Biergarten.

The show is great and your kids will love it. Our daughter liked it when she was 3 and again when she was 5. Our Niece was 9 and liked it too.

We liked the food very much everytime. Even if you are not the saurkraut type, there are still plenty of choices.

The seating deal is a big thing. When we went in 2007 we had a party of 7, so it was no problem and we liked it (we had a whole table to ourselves). In 2009 it was just the three of us and we sat with another family of 5 or 6.

I didn't like it at all. I mean everyone is nice and such, but you can't talk freely or anything. Plus, you are always getting up for people or making them move for you. I just didn't like the vibe. I wish they would change the seating there!

We have already said that although we really like it there, it will be off our list until we can go there with more people. Until then, we will just skip it.

You could always just go counter service since you are not on the dining plan. Unless this is your only day at WDW, I'd go counter service for this day, rather than doing something you really don't want to do (all of them are expensive, especially OOP). Spend your money somewhere else on property that your family will enjoy more.
