Where to eat in DC??

DH and I are meeting friends in DC for a long weekend. We will be staying at the Marriott near the White House. We have no real plans yet but need a few suggestions for places to eat. We want to stay far away from "chains" and would rather go where the locals go, in the mid range for price.

My son (then 13) and I went back three times to Georgia Browns.

It happened to allows be close to where we wanted to go....but it was crazy good.

There's this AMAZING, and by AMAZING I mean AMAZING!!!111!!!! place on (I think it's) 14th street called "Queen Makeda" and it's not that expensive. The woman who cooks there is nice and the food is spectacular.

For lunch time, you should try Moby Dick's for the best kabobs. If you like seafood, Oceanaire is good, but expensive. I'm also a big fan of Kincaids for seafood. It's not close, but Rosa Mexicano is supposed to be terrific (I'm going there in a couple of weeks.)

I second Old Ebbit Grill and Kincaids - love them both.
I'm also a HUGE fan of Filomena's in Georgetown - amazing Italian!

My friend just went to a luncheon at the DC Chophouse (over at Verizon Center) and said the food was REALLY good.
