Go to Ohana's at the Polynesian.
You can hop the bus to MK then ferry or monorail over to the Poly.
Have dinner....make priority seating though! It can get booked, especially on a Sat.
Then depending on the time of your PS...you can watch the fireworks from Ohana's or if you are done eating by then...
head down to the beach to watch from there.

It is Awesome.....and it really gets the vacation started with the right dose of MAGIC!!

Cindyfan, I was going to recommend Ohanas!

Well, I'd like to second Ohanas. It is one of our favorites and it will be our first restaurant on our upcoming trip!

thanks for the recommendations! was wondering how i make ps reservations? do i go through the resort i'm staying at? or call the restaurant directly?

Well....BabyMo...I beatcha to it...."cousin" :p

I can't wait to go back to Ohana's in Oct.

We still remember "Cousin Amy" from when we went last year.
It must have been her first day, because she was just way over the edge friendly!!! :Pinkbounc
But it really made our experience great!!!

We love their dinner and the character breakfast!!

MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! can't wait.

you guys are funny... anyway - thanks again! i think we will try ohana's.

how do you get those cute little counters at the bottom of your messages?

hugs,

Just wanted to give another big thumbs up to O'Hana for the first night! Great food and wonderful atmosphere to get you in the mood for a disney trip! Make sure you do the following things while there: go to the beach to see the fireworks and/or electrical water parade; spend time relaxing on the beach or walking the beautiful paths at this resort and taking in the scenery with MK in the distance--amazing! AND make sure you get a Lapu Lapu to drink! If all of the above suggestions do not put you right in the WDW vacation time frame mode--- the Lapu Lapu most certainly will!! LOL! :)

To get the trip countdowns just go to the technical support board here on DIS and follow the step by step instructions, it is very easy.

We will be at Disney Oct 13 - 18, staying at the All Star Movies!!!

For our first night, we are going to Ohanas!!! I've read some very favorable reviews recently - so we can't wait to try a new restaurant!!!

By the way, I've heard some VERY good things about the Lapu Lapu - can't wait to try that too!!!!!
