Where to eat Epcot/Boardwalk dinner?

I have one dinner for a short upcoming trip that I can't decide on. Our group will be DH, myself, and boys 5 and 1.5. We'll be staying at BCR for the first time, and will be spending the day at Epcot (we don't do hoppers). Dining is an important part of any vacation DH and I take. I already have dinner reservations for bluezoo, Il Mulino, and Flying Fish. No DDP this trip. Where should I make my last one? We're all adventurous eaters. We're still in the stage where we return to the room for a rest before dinner. It will be a long day, so more casual is okay (although we don't do QS ever at dinner). Thoughts?

Everyone of your current ADRs is a high end Signature Restaurant. That is a lot of "behaving" for little ones. : -). If you are at the Beach Club I might try Captains Grill for a more relaxed evening. I like Cape May Clambake but a buffet is not as relaxing.

I would try Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk Resort (across the lake from BCR). It has a great kids menu and is reasonable OOP. The kids can get either pizza or pasta and its a nice atmosphere with good service- food is delish. You can always take a walk on the Boardwalk after and see magicians and other entertainment after dinner. It seems like it would be a great end! ;)

Maybe we're mean parents, but we figure after a full day of doing all things kid-centric and Disney that the boys can tolerate a nice dinner. We've done one signature a day on our other two trips, and I think WDW restaurants do a great job with families. We take them to decent places at home too, I think it's good for them (and us, lol). I was thinking about picking something a little more casual though for this night, even though Yachtsman sounds great. Maybe Trattoria al Forno wouldn't be too much Italian? Hmmm...

We do the same thing! My DS (who is now 9) has been to almost every signature on property and has always enjoyed the experience.

If you want to stay in the Boardwalk area, Trattoria is good! Highly recommend getting a drink at AbracadaBAR is you are over there (they have fun kids drinks, too) and get dessert at Ample Hills! Capt. Grille is ok (the atmosphere at Trattoria is better), the food is good. If you feel like wandering back into EP, I highly recommend Spice Road Table. The food is very good and the staff are so nice. We've eaten there a few times and have never been disappointed. The small plates are great (hummus is delicious!) and the entrees are very good as well! Try the baklava!! Really good food and good for adventurous eaters!

There have been lots of good suggestions here. In the Boardwalk area, another vote for Captain's Grille. For adventurous, though not in the Boardwalk area, maybe try Skipper Canteen, Tiffin's, or Sanaa.

I realize you said something casual would be alright however, since you seem to lean towards higher end dining I would recommend either the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club (can't go wrong here) or if you want to be a bit adventurous you could head back in to Epcot and eat at Monsieur Paul however that may be a bit much for the kids.

I also agree with PP that the Abracdabar is something you should check out. Pay attention to your surroundings...you never know what might "disappear".

If you're leaning towards a more casual dinner, I would suggest looking into the Crew's Cup Lounge in the YC. Excellent food, very casual - it's a hidden gem! You could also take a look a the ESPN Club over at the Boardwalk - also very casual and we've never had a disappointing meal there.

Yachtsman, Chefs de France or Teppan Edo. Perhaps Via Napoli. We enjoyed our meals at all of those restaurants.

2 of my favorite Epcot meals , which are more causal so we usually do them at lunch. San Angel Inn & Teppan Edo. Both have good food , are more causal yet still a nice sit down restaurant .

Trattoria is nice...it's a cross between casual and a little more upscale. Pizza to keep kids happy, wine flights for the grown ups. The food was pretty tasty too.

On the boardwalk The Big River Grill and Brewery. A favorite for a cold beer and chips and salsa. The guacamole is very tasty

A couple of these I'm not familiar with, I'll check them out! Maybe I'll live dangerously and not make an ADR? We do really want to check out what the Boardwalk area has to offer, as I'm saving up to buy DVC and trying to firm up exactly where we'd like to own.

I'm saving up to buy DVC
I think you also need to consider if DVC is really for you. When I look at the prices and compare it to how I like to travel it is certainly not worth it. I visit WDW at least 4 times a year and I don't like having to make my plans so far in advance in order to ensure I get the type of room and resort I want. Friends of mine have DVC and I think if you are willing to use it at all of the various options DVC gives you, especially outside of WDW, then it can certainly be worth it. IMO I just don't see the value in DVC for the way we travel.

I would suggest Teppan Edo for you. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing, and of course the presentation is very enjoyable for adults and kids alike!
