Anyone have any good ideas of where to eat at Downtown Disney and we are on the dining plan? I would like to have some CS and TS places, any ideas would be great.:thumbsup2

Is it better to go at night or during the day?

Thanks:goodvibes

we loved Wolfgang Puck Express (CS) so much last year, we're going to Wolfgang Puck Cafe (TS) this year!

We always have to go to Earl of Sandwich, which would be a CS. Yummy

We've never been but we're doing some TSes at Cap N Jacks & Raglan Road. So looking forward to it.:cool1:

House of Blues is awesome....been there 3 times and never had a bad meal or bad service.

Wolfgang Puck Express, the portions are huge, the prices are very reasonable and the food is super good...we make sure to hit this place on every trip

We loved our meal at Bongos.

And another shout-out for House of Blues.

Cap'n Jack was awful, and the food at Rainforest Cafe isn't actually that good and the service tends toward abysmal. If you have small children, the electronics are cool.

I enjoyed my hazelnut crusted chicken at Wolfgang Puck's, but the other 3 members of the family all had mediocre meals, and the service was rushed and unpleasant. I would give it another try to see if it was an off night.

We're really looking forward to trying Raglan Road this time.

We love going to DTD both during the day and the evening!
Not sure how old your kids are but we-including my DS10-just loved Ragland Road during our recent trip! The service, the atmosphere and the food alll get a :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 from us!

Raglan Road and Portobello Yacht Club are our two favorite spots. We like to eat relatively early (6:00)--we're not "comfortable" with that whole area much later than that.

The earl of sandwich is my most favourite cs place in all ov disney, makes a yummy lunch! :)

Maybe OT question, but what happens with it/ how does it change later on??

A few weeks ago we had absolutely wonderful food and service at Captain Jack's. We had the crab cake appetizer, twin lobster tails (we substituted mashed potatoes for the rice) and a yummy dessert. The prices for lobster tails were reasonable and the tails were very very good. All 3 of us had the same thing and loved it. The service was excellent and the table overlooked the lake. It was a very nice evening and we will go back again soon.

My daughter and I had lunch there this week. She had the crab cake melt and I had the tuna salad. Both were good sized portions and very tasty!!! And again the service was very good.

Wolfgang Puck Express is my very favorite CS in all of Disney~gotta love their pizzas and mac&cheese. Not your average fast food~

We arrive around noon & head straight for DTD. First Disney meal is always Earl of Sandwich. DH says the Cannonball is the best meatball ever! I love the Caribbean Jerk Chicken, but I may have to try the Cannonball this time. We have lots of great table service meals planned, but we are really looking forward to Earl of Sandwich. We will pay OOP for this meal as it is so reasonable, and skip dessert here in favor of an ice cream sundae from Girradelli.

Another vote for House of Blues. It's all the way down by Cirque but everyone in our 5 had great apps, entrees and desserts. Good service too.

Think I'll try Earl of Sandwich though this time for a lunch, heard such good things.

Is it December yet?

We were planning arriving around noon and then hopefully heading to Downtown Disney. Can you tell me if example Earl of Sandwich is crowded around 1 or so?
Thanks

Sandravb79: There are/were a couple of threads on other boards (Rumors, Theme Parks, maybe Community) on certain "trends" in the DD area that prompted a new look at security and police presence there. You can look at them and form your own opinions, certainly, but aside from any of that, we found the DD area after dark to be a bit loud and rancous for our tastes. And that was before any of these other matters came up.
But--many folks just love the area, so there you go!!!
