I tried to book Boma and it was not available, the CM suggested Maya Grill. Any opinions or other suggestions?

I don't want to spend 2 TS for Jiko, but that is a good suggestion. Thanks. What do the rest of you do for dinner after Animal Kingdom?

Where are you staying? Your resort or the surrounding are may have a good TS.

Go to Boma!! ;)

No actually we usually have lunch at Flame Tree BBQ (counter service) then couter service again or a pizza in the eveing back at the hotel.

But last year after our Animal Kingdom day, we took the Bus transport to the Contemporary to eat dinner at Chef Mickeys.
After eating, it was easy to get back to the Transportation Center at Magic Kingdom for our bus back to the All Star Movies.

This year, after both our Animal Kingdom Days, we have reservations at Chef Mickeys and Ohana. We wanted to go to a Magic Kingdom Resort Area restaurant because it's easier to get a bus back to the POP. We don't want to bus hop too much.

On our past trip, and this coming trip- we have made plans to hop straight to Epcot for ADR's there. I enjoy that park so much at night, so we have 8:00 ADR's once at San Angel, and then at Le Cellier at 8:00 for our AK days. It worked out great last year, hopefully this year too.

We left the animal kingdom around 3:30 went to our hotel (POR) and took the kids for a short swim. We went to the Biergarten at Epcot for dinner. The kids loved it! The food was yummy and the band was entertaining! My hubby loved the TWO liters of beer he drank! lol

Thanks for the additional replies. Sounded like no one really recommended we go to Maya Grill, but that is where I have ADR's for as of now, since that is what the CM suggested. And I don't know any better since we have never eaten anywhere at Disney other than CS our one trip there 7 years ago.

We are staying at POP. How hard is it to get back to POP from Coronado Springs? This is all new to me.

By the way our other TS for our 5 night stay:
Tonys, Liberty Tree Tavern, LeCellier, Coral Reef

If you really want to eat at Boma (which I highly recommend) you should try calling back to dining every once in a while to see if someone has cancelled. We'll be going there for our 3rd time this August!

In order to get back to POP from Coranado Springs you have to take a bus to the nearest park (that is still open, AK closes the earliest)and then transfer to a POP bus.
As someone else suggested you may want to eat at a monrail resort (Contemporary, Chef Mickeys or Concourse, Polynesian, Ohanas or Kona or Grand Floridian, Park Faire or Grand Floridian Cafe) restaurant, that way you can hop the monorail to MK then take the bus back to POP.

Maya Grill is Great, Boma wouldn't be bad either. Those would be my choices if I was just doing AK and not heading to another park.

I know alot of people would probably disagree with me but what about Rainforest Cafe before leaving the park? My family really enjoys it!

Gonna have to hit the Gong on that one. If you haven't been to one it "might" be worth seeing for drinks and an App at the bar. We eat there quite often locally as our kids love the place, but the food is so overpriced for what you get I always feel ripped off. IMO the food is nothing special.

Maybe go there and get the Volcano for dessert, thats good even though pricey.

What about the Hoop de Doo Revue for the evening? It is a great show for all ages and the all-you-can-eat chicken is the best at WDW! :dance3:

We just went and it was a blast, however the OP sounded like they didn't want to do a 2 credit dinner for that option.
