Where to dine for a nice lunch

Hi all................ I am kinda thinking that for our xmas week vacation, it might be better to do a nice lunch in lieu of a dinner (schedule wise). We are staying concierge and i would like to have some relaxing evenings since it is our plan to get up early and "beat the crowds" - if this can be done. Anyway, we usually like to eat at a nice restaurant (usually some signature restaurants) for either steak or seafood. If i were to try and revise our adr schedule to include table service lunches what would you suggest? Thanks as always diser's for all your help.

I recommend LeCellier in Canada/Epcot. Great steaks, nice atmosphere, good service. :flower:

We always--with the Boma exception--do 'big' lunches & smaller or cs dinners.
Marrakesh is super, also. Stunning decor also live music & belly dancing, lamb & chicken & vegan selections-

Have a super trip! :sunny:

I agree...LeCellier is great....love their cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread...and the choclate moose is very rich....hmmmmmmm

I'd do lunch at the Brown Derby in the Studios. Actually, on our upcoming trip we are doing just that! ::MinnieMo

I would also recommend Le Cellier at Epcot or the Brown Derby at MGM. Both of our meals there were lunch and they were fantastic. Not too bright, very comfortable, great service, and delicious food. It was our first time dining at each, and we will definitely go back on our next trip.

Sorry for barging in...but would you recommend an ADR for lunch at Le Cellier? I know an ADR would be a necessity for dinner, but can you just walk up for lunch? My DH and I would love to try it, but we already know that it's booked for the nights we'll be there.

Thanks!

I'd have to recommend Coral Reef at the Living Seas in Epcot. We dined there for the first time on our trip last week and it was wonderful. Since you mentioned that you are seafood fans you should seriously consider it. It is a fabulous spot for lunch as the light level is low so that the aquarium tanks are clearly visible and its a very quiet restaurant. Give it a look. :wave2:

BTW....I thought I saw someone say that ALL adrs for Le Cellier were booked solid through New Years....may be wrong but I thought I saw that sometime.

We just got back last night from a quick holiday visit. We tried Brown Derby for lunch on Saturday and loved it. The restaurant is beautiful and the decorations for the holiday in the lobby area were very nice. Great martinis. I thought the food was very nice.

I just thought I would post because I called to make an ADR for Christmas Eve at Le Cellier for a late lunch and they had several times available. Dinner was booked. In case someone was interested.

Le Cellier does not always require a lunch ADR. We've never made them and rarely have waited longer than 20 minutes. Of course, during holiday season that may not be the case. It is one of our favorites. Rose & Crown is good too.

If you want to leave the park for a break, Olivia's at OKW is very good. The menu is pretty varied and the food is generally good. We've also heard good things about Raglan Road at DTD; haven't been able to try it yet. And House of Blues at DTD is excellent! None of those places are terribly busy at lunch. Olivia's serves lunch until 5:00, with lunch prices, which is nice on the wallet.

Two above par lunches we have enjoyed were Kona Cafe and Coral Reef. Both had great atmospheres, great food and attentive service. They were both also very quiet and relaxing, just what we needed! You said steak and seafood, at Coral Reef we had both, dh just wasn't in the mood for seafood and it was one of the better steaks he has had. Kona has some nice seafood selections and is so easy to get to from MK or Epcot. Kona also had some of the best desserts I have ever had anywhere!

Another vote for Le Cellier. Be sure to ask for the pretzel bread - it's to die for! (The steaks are also fabulous!)

Kona's menu at lunch is very good, and it's really quiet. The entire hotel is much quieter at lunchtime because you don't have crowds of people waiting for 'Ohana, checking in, etc. It's really nice having lunch at Kona, looking out the window, enjoying the atmosphere...I'd definitely recommend it. :flower:

Grand Floridian Cafe. Really nice.

Oh, yeah, didn't even think of there! We had lunch there trip before last and dinner our last trip. We have lunch planned for next trip. It's very nice, lovely atmosphere, great food. I love the bite-size deserts! It's great if you can get a table by the window to see the lovely Grand Floridian grounds. :flower:

Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. Top off lunch with somr great ice cream. :Pinkbounc

We have eaten lunch at Morocco on our last 2 trips. We enjoyed it very much. It is beautiful, quiet at lunch, good food and warm friendly servers. We have not been disappointed.

Our favorites for a nice lunch include Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, Rose and Crown, Chefs de France, Mama Melrose and Brown Derby. Goof food and service at all of them. :cool1:

BTW, I don't think Raglan Road is open for lunch. All the info preopening was that it would open at 3. I walked over there from Westside the first week it was open and that day anyway, RR wasn't opening until 4pm. :confused3

I always make a reservation for the nicer sit down places in Epcot...just saves on waiting, I think...I would make one for lunch.. why not, it is only a phone call and then you are covered.
