Hearing lots of horror stories about busses lately. My nephew is there now and just sent a text he waited an hour to get one out of DIsney Springs. Where would I go to catch a cab from DS???

I saw a thread about Disney looking into providing personal individual transportation for a fee. Glorified cab service. Might they be setting us up for just that by cutting back on busses???

There are 2 taxi stands:
  • In the Strawberry parking lot on the West Side, between Cirque & HOB
  • At the former Marketplace bus depot, between Design-a-Tee & Days of Christmas (down the path from Rainforest.)
They're both indicated on the latest Guide Map, available at Guest Relations and the bug spray stations.

Is it just taxis at the marketplace depot or can you also get ubers to that location? Last time I passed it (been awhile) it was still closed off.

I don't know for sure, but:
  • When you request an Uber anywhere at DS, the app still plugs in the Strawberry lot as the pickup
  • Ubers are usually not allowed in Mears taxi stands
  • The entrance has the standard "Service & Authorized Vehicles Only" signs
  • I saw a Disney Security car hanging out there
So as a part time occasional Uber driver, I will not accept a pickup there until I hear its OK, but other drivers may be more daring.

I had an Uber driver drop me at the Marketplace without an issue. May depend on the driver, though... doesn't hurt to ask.

Yes, dropping off is easier than picking up, because you can usually get in and out before Security can get to you. I'll gladly drop riders in one of the garages, but I won't pick up in them (well, maybe if someone phoned and agreed to meet me on an upper level.)
