We have 180 pts at BWV's at this time with a Sept. use year... We got a case of addonitis and called our guide to add on more points. My question is... Should we add on to the BWV's or just go on ahead and add extra points to SSR??? I origionally thought that I wouldn't want to be at SSR because I love the BW area and EPCOT area and don't really like the DTD or PI area... Actually, I usually visit the DTD area one time during our visits.... Comments, Suggestions, Opinions on what to do would be greatly appreciated as at this time, I really don't know whether to "hold out" for the points or go for SSR...

Also, does anyone know what the incentives are to buy??? Should that make a difference as to where to buy, do you think?????

Those are questions that only you can answer - the answer will be different for each person depending on their personal situation. Here are some things to think about:

How large an add on are you considering? Smaller contracts will often require you to bank and borrow to reserve a vacation. Are you willing and able to do the extra tracking of the add on contract - it's a lot easier if the add on is the same home resort.

Think about why you want to add more points - do you want to stay longer? Go more often? Bring guests? Then think about how you would use the add on contract to make reservations.

When do you travel? Are you going to have trouble using the SSR points at 7 months - you said you don't want to stay there. Are you comfortable with using the waitlist?

Why is the extra time important? Do you really think you'll still want your DVC contract(s) 30 years from now (that's when your BWV contract will expire). Tom Yeary told someone that the average member holds on to a contract for 10 -12 years - sounds about right to me.

Do you plan more than 7 months in advance? If not, it doesn't much matter where you buy - go for the best deal.

Good luck with your decision.

I would wait a little bit and see if they announce a new DVC. There are still rumors floating around about the Contemporary Villas. That would be a nice add on.

I'd wait until the next property is announced as well. All the DVC resorts so far have been very American in theme and I have a feeling we'll see something out of that box (like the Contemporary or AKL) before long to attract more international purchasers. If Disney follows their previous patttern, a new DVC announcement is about due. You'll get those extra contract years with the new resort too.
