Where to buy TC's?

Hi all,
I've been wondering if I should buy them at my bank(BMO) or at TD bank? How do you buy them? What do you guys do?

If you buy from a bank you will generally incur fee's.

I have a couple of options that I use to buy TC's.

I have a US $ account and a Plan 60 account with TD
The Plan 60 account (joint with another family member who is over 60) allows purchase of TC's at no charge.

The second option is to take US$ to an AMEX Travel Agency.
They will not charge any fee for AMEX TC's

CAA have VISA TC's, but I have heard that they are not always accepted in some stores as readilly as AMEX TC's.

I bought mine from CAA...never had any problem using them at the WDW.

We get American Express TC at our CIBC.
Because of the type of visa card my dh has, there is no extra fee.

I've always used the CAA to get my traveller cheques....there is no fee if you are a CAA member...never had a problem with the Visa TC's in WDW and area.

I've always bought the currency elsewhere...so I don't know how CAA rates compare.

I would check to see what bank you usually deal with and if your present banking package (such as the one mentioned by iluvwesties) gives you a break on commission. Do you have a flat fee with BMO? If so it might be included.

Also AMEX or Visa travllelers checks are best but I would guess WDW will cash most brands.
