where to buy helmet for 2yr old?

We are going to vacation and are planning to rent bikes , ds will ride on the back with dh. Where is the best place to buy him a helmet, I have no idea. My friend said toys r us, but dh thinks that the best helmet won't be at a "toy" store. Help!

sure toys r us has them walmart, target they all have them. you can also buy them at a bike store, but theyre the same thing, youll just pay more. when you buy it you just want to make sure it fits. it should fit snug and not come down over his eyes. it should fit all the way through to the back and cover the entire head. at that age they shouldnt be the kind that fit to halfway down the head on the back.
when my kids were little i didnt buy those streemline ones, i bought the more rounded type. it was very similiar to the one my little brother had to wear because he was special needs. (i hope that made sense?)

Also check with your local Children's Hospital. We have a discount bike helmet program, where anyone can come in and buy a helmet. Otherwise any store the quality is similar. If it makes you feel more comfortable, go to a bike shop and buy one.

we went to a bike store and they only had ones for large kids, we got the smallest said for a 3 year old and it was way too big. then we were in target and they had them down to 1 year olds and this worked great for out little guy. there is not difference between the real and target helmets.

We got ours at Toys R Us. They had a better selection of helmets that fit children under 3. We had tried a bike shop first but couldn't find one for smaller children. Since Toys R Us is geared towards children, they had several to choose from.
