Can anyone tell me where to look for cheap Asics running shoes in Anaheim?

I'm a runner in need of new shoes. Shoe prices in Canada are crazy! Just wondered if there's a place fairly close to DL, Universal or Sea World that I could try while we are in CA.

I have never been so I don't know, but you could Google Garden Walk in Anaheim. Its a mall within walking distance to the parks. Good luck!

There is the Outlets at Orange Mall. It is about 20 minutes from the resort.

There is (or at used to be) a Big 5 sporting goods store just up the block on Harbor. Had to pick up shoes for my daughter one trip. After a summer of wearing sandals her tennis shoes were too small.

depending on your price point, The stores at the Garden Walk can be expensive..:)

The Big 5 store is a great idea. I haven't been to the one there but we go to the ones here in the Pacific NW. They have a huge selection. The stores here have sale tables of shoes. Prices can't be beat.

Check them out on line for their ads.

Good luck.

I have been to the Big5 near DL. It is quite small and I thought the selection was quite limited. I have been to some others which were massive. The Anaheim one was disappointing. But I would check it out anyway - you may find they have just what you're looking for!

ASICS has some outlet stores, but not in Southern California. The only one I've seen is in Livermore, California. Someone mentioned the Outlets at Orange, which is a pretty good outdoor outlet mall. Parking is tough during weekends though. I think I circled around for 15 minutes just trying to find anyone leaving. They have a Finish Line and Sports Authority. I don't recall any of the discount shoe places like Famous Footwear being there.

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate all the replies. I have the outlet mall on our radar for the Monday of our trip anyway. Hopefully I'll find something there. I'll check out the online deals for the stores before we go, too.

Asics outlet, I would be in heaven! Haha It's the only shoe I run in and my son wrestles in. We could do some serious damage. :thumbsup2

Road Runner Sports is where most of my runner friends go. There are a couple in the Anaheim area.

Another option is DSW Shoe Warehouse. They tend to be more higher end, but they always have ASICS. The two locations closest to Disneyland would be in Orange (across the street from the outlet mall in another shopping center) and Tustin.

"Cheap" is relative though. Their discounts tend to be small, but their selection and the high end shoes they carry are the attraction.

I'd think that Big 5 and Sports Authority would probably have several sale items that you might like. What you might find "cheap" can be random.

I always buy ASICS when we are in the States because they are horrendously overpriced in Australia.

I have never had any problem picking up a few different pairs at Big 5

I went to lots of outlets, and normal sports stores when we were in Anaheim, and really didn't find many Asics at all. I was very disappointed.

I mentioned Famous Footwear. I just went to a location near where I work, and they had several ASICS running shoes. It won't be a full line including wrestling shoes, track spikes, and volleyball. Sports Authority should have a larger selection, but maybe a few models are on sale and some of the clearance shoes will be sold out of box.

If anything, I'm rather partial to Mizuno, but I rather like something a little bit harder to find but where the name is still recognizable. Generally I'm brand agnostic. If it fits well and looks good, I'll buy it if I think the price is reasonable.

Another option (and one that I have used) is to select and try on the size/style you want in a local store, then order them on-line.

I'm looking at this now. I want Asics Gel Kayano's. I tried them on at Sportchek and loved them. My last two pairs have been Nike Zoom Structures, and while they've worked well, I want something with more cushion. The Kayano's have been recommended to me several times. Up here in Canada they're $199. I've seen them from $100-150 on US websites, but then when you factor in shipping, duty, etc, I may as well buy them here. Hoping to avoid that by putting them in my suitcase! lol

Asics Gel Kayano shoes are great! I am now on my third pair (two pairs of Kayano 18s and currently running in Kayano 19s). Best running shoes I have ever owned, and I've been running for 40 years. :thumbsup2
