Where to buy books at WDW

Any suggestions on where they sell books on property at WDW? Here is my dilemma - we are arriving in Orlando on July 15th. The newest Harry Potter is being released on the 16th - I would love to pick up a copy for reading at the pool, not to mention the airplane ride home- my husband thinks I am nuts - we're going to Disney World and I am worried about getting the Harry Potter book! If I suggested taking a cab to a bookstore off site he would probably have a fit. Any thoughts??

The Writers Stop in MGM perhaps? I buy books there frequently, also check your resort gift shop they sell a few books.

Your best bet is probably Virgin MegaStore at Downtown Disney. They carry a lot of books and most likely will be the one who will have the new Harry Potter book as they are the most contemporary bookstore on the property.

The Virgin store at DTD is the only place I can think of. You could probably even call them now and see if they will be carrying it. Although I'm sure if the HP movies were put out by Disney you'd have been able to find it everywhere!

Maybe you could order it on-line and have it shipped to you at the hotel? -- not sure if that would work. Just a thought!

I'd be trying to figure out the same thing if I were in your shoes, I plan on being at my bookstore at midnight July 15th to get my copy!

Thank you for the tips, I had heard of the Virgin Megastore but not the store in MGM - I had thought about having it shipped to the resort, but I was a little worried if this would work out well.

I would not expect to find it at any "Disney" stores, but the Megastore will most likely carry it. I'd give them a call to make sure before heading over there.

There is a little shop next to the Sci-Fi restaurant at MGM--I can't think of the name right now--total mental block!! They sell books and I thought they had some new books that just came out. It's a neat place to browse--you could always ask when you are in MGM if they will be carrying Harry Potter on the 16th. I already ordered mine from Amazon.com--can't wait!
