Where should we go for a romantic vacation?

We've been to Hawaii for our honeymoon 10 years ago, we've been to WDW 3 times with the kids, now we are thinking of going somewhere in a couple years WHERE? We looked up Hawaii again but prices have gone up a lot and would be too expensive. We are from the North so it has to be someplace HOT in Jan. or Feb. so we can get away from the cold. Any suggestions?

I've been getting brochures lately (not sure why) for those Couples resorts in the Caribbean. They look really fantastic (if expensive) and are all-inclusive. Plus, I think they are adults only so that helps with the romance (no loud kids at the pool, etc.) Not that I have anything against kids, I have 2 loud ones of my own.. just when I think of romantic getaway + husband = kid free zone (mine and anyone else's!) LOL

Anyone ever been to one of those?

Vegas baby! :thumbsup2 It's "HOT" there anytime. ;) May not be very romantic but things could get spicy. My DH and I love it there.

Actually it could be very romantic. You have the Eiffel tower, the Bellagio fountains, and the gondolas of Venice. Plus some of the best food and shopping anywhere. I say go for it. Maybe you'll get lucky. ;) You know, at the slot machines. :teeth:

MommaU4 is right on target .And if you don't gamble don't worry there is soooo much fun stuff to do .

SWA vacations are always holding deals and it's 24/7 non-stop

Caribbean would be good, and there are some cheaper all-inclusives in Mexico. :sunny:

Aruba
Dominican Republic
Fiji Islands (Bora Bora)

With my DH's business, we have to go away in January or February, so for me, it has to be somewhere warm.
I think the best value is an all inclusive resort.
Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)
Cancun
or a cruise

We loved Punta Cana, I'm leaning toward a cruise for our next trip.

On our honeymoon we stopped in Grand Cayman - I loved it there. Great beaches, good food, GREAT shopping to bring home a nice anniversary something or other... The best rum I've ever had too - Tortuga Rum.

I agree that nothing is more romantic and stress free than an all-inclusive.

Search around through the Adult-Only all inclusives! I know there are some in Jamaica. May be one or two in Mexico as well.

I am thinking that you would have a better chance of warm weather in Jamaica than at Cancun/Playa. Weather.com will give you averages.

depending on what time of year you go, dh and I went to a B&B in the adirondack mountains in NY. All meals were included, they had before dinner wine and cheese parties, no kids in the lodge. It was very stressfree and relaxing. We really enjoyed each others company. We went in the fall, it was beautiful to see the foliage.

Niagara could also be very good.

If you're outdoorsy people, maybe somewhere like northern Quebec where you can go whale-watching.

As much as I love Vegas, it's actually kinda chilly there in Jan and Feb.

Funny you mention Quebec. We live just 4 hours from Quebec City.
That is our usual every year weekend getaway place.
We've been married almost 11 years and always go there for our anniversary except last year for our 10th we went to Bar Harbor Maine(Great place 5 hours away from us)
This year I said to my DH that since I always pick what we do for our weekend getaways this year we would go wherever he wanted. Well we are going to Boston to see a Red Sox game( not too romantic but should be fun).

As for our big romantic vacation I don't know when we will go. We could go next year or the year after but Our dd is going into 9th grade this fall and we haven't set aside any college money yet so I'd feel real guilty going on a romantic vacation.

Well I can dream and plan wayyyy ahead. I think a Sandals Resort would be great. :teeth:

I once saw a documentary on the Island of Capri in Italy. If I could have a kids free vacation and get over this fear of flying I would be there!
