Hi

My fiance and myself are off to stay at AKL for 2 weeks in Sept for our honeymoon.

It's my fourth trip back to WDW and fiance's second.

I have quite a bit of knowledge about where to go etc. but what with upcoming house move and wedding, I'm finding it hard to get time to plan our holiday this time round.

So, can you wonderful peeps out there tell me where you think we should eat?

We are going to all the major theme parks (all 4 disney parks/both universal parks/sea world/disc. cove/busch etc) so we need tips on where to eat for dinner after days out at all the above.

We are already planning on going to Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood cuz these are our faves but what about the other 12 nights!!??

Thanks

Since you'll be at AKL anyway, you'll definately will need to try Boma and Jiko!

First of all best wishes on you up coming wedding!

There are so many wonderful places to eat at WDW and outside the parks. What types of food are your favorites? Is there a budget? Sitdown or counter service?

Thank you.

We want a mixture really.
As it's our honeymoon some nice sit down style meals (nothing too crazily priced though), but will probably just want a fast meal sometimes.

I just wondered what every ones's fave places were so we can shorten the list down, as there's so many places but we always end up doing the same things, and this time we fancy doing something different.

For special nights, I suggest:

Narcossee's at the GF
CG at the CR -- time your PS w. the fireworks
YSH at the YC
FF at the BW

Many posters try an eat late lunches at a sit-down restaurant to save $$.

At Epcot we love Le Cellier, and Chef de France.
For cheap eats at Epcot try the bakery in France or Norway -- they have sandwiches, quiches. There is a counter service restaurant in Japan Yacatori House (sp?) which is reasonable and enough for 2 to share.

Resorts have some reasonable priced places, too.

Kona Cafe at the Poly
YC at the YC
B&C at the BC
Spoodles pizza window at the BW
Big River Grille at the BW
WC at the WL
Olivia's at OKW
GF Cafe at the GF

Hope this helps!

Chef Mickey's was our favorite dinner

Rainforest cafe is a good choice for breakfast...we loved the restaurant and shopping area

I agree with jennymouse- the restaurants at AKL are outstanding.

We were lucky enough to secure the Chef's Table at V&A, although these days it is a tough reservation to get. If you can get it, spend the money. Although this will sound weird, I personally think that the Chef's Table is the best value for a premium meal in WDW. I won't go into all the details because there are a lot of 'surprises' during your dining adventure, but if you enjoy wine I would highly recommend the premium wine pairings with your meal.

What better time to splurge than for a wedding celebration? Book it if you can. Trust me, you will thank me later :)

Blessings.

go for V&A too! It is really wonderful! My DH (quite a penny pinch) loves V&A! If that's not true praise, I don't know what is!

Our other favorite real meals are:
JIKO
Chef Mickey's
Chefs de France
Garden Grill
Flying Fish
CRT - breakfast
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fair
Cape May Cafe

For a fast bite try:
Cosmic Ray's
Columbia Harbor House
Beaches & Cream
Tusker House

Enjoy your Honeymoon!

We're going over to Busch Gardens with my dad in a couple weeks. I find it very lacking in the food area, moreso than Universal and IOA. When I was in high school, my friends and I usually walked across the street to the Pizza Hut. I'll let you know if we find anything worthwhile this time.

Oh, and don't forget Boma, since you'll already be at the AKL!

I agree with almost all the recommendations on this thread so far (I have tried them all but 2), but be aware that I have had bad meals at both the Flying Fish and Chefs de France. I won't ever eat at FF again, but they just installed a new kitchen facility at Chefs de France so I am considering giving them another try in 2005.

Also, the Chefs Table at V&A is a much different experience than dining in the main restaurant. The food quality and experience are outstanding at both, but the meal/experience we had at the Chefs Table was probably the finest dining experience I have ever had.

Blessings,
mic_key_mouse

Another vote for Jiko. We ate there last week. It was wonderful! I can't wait to go back.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding and have a great honeymoon!

Our favorites, so far--
Le Cellier--our top favorite
Kringla Bakeri in Norway for lunch---never miss
Artist Point
Sci Fi
Chef Mickey
Plaza Resturant

Good ones---
ESPN Club
Concourse Grill
Big River Grille and Brewing Co.
Wolfgang Puck Cafe

"OK" Ones---
Crystal Palace
Boma (have only tried breakfast, would like to try dinner)
Mama Melrose---"might" try again if we are with someone who really wants to eat there, but we will never try this one again if we are by ourselves
Resturant Akershus

Will never go again---
Brown Derby
Jiko
China (resturant name slips my mind)

Since your staying at AKL you have to give Jiko a try, its one of our favorites.

Some of our other favorites are Spoodles on the Boardwalk, after dinner take a stroll around the Boardwalk it is a beautiful area at night.

California Grill at the Contemporary resort.

Rose & Crown Pub in Epcot, see if you can get a table outside by the water.

Kona Cafe at the Poly resort & Fresh at the Dolphin Resort are our two favorites for Breakfast.

My favs:

Table service --
Artist Point
Bistro de Paris (France)
Akershus (Norway)
Beaches & Cream
GF Cafe
50's Prime Time (but only if you're in the mood to "interact"!)
Portabello Yacht Club (DD)

Counter service --
Columbia Harbour House
Patisserie (France)

I've had bad luck at some of the restaurants at DD. House of Blues and Planet Hollywood (sorry, I know it's one of your favs) really provided rotten service.

The places I plan to try this year based on the reviews I've read here are Le Cellier, Boma, and Earl of Sandwich.

As for the other parks, I liked the Crown Colony in Busch Gardens and Lombards Landing in Universal. I've heard great things about Mythos in IOA (I'm planning to go there too). At Universal City Walk, we had a (surprisingly) good meal at Hard Rock Cafe. Nothing fancy, but everything tasted great and the portions were huge. If you like Rainforest and Planet Hollywood, I think you'll like it there.
