To clarify: we are flying into Orlando at 12:39PM. We are staying at the Grand Floridian. We have a preschooler who will be coming along. DH and I have a ressie for Victoria and Alberts at 9PM that night. Where would you recommend? We would like to get the little one down for a nap that afternoon, too.

Our first thoughts include: Kona Cafe, GF Tea Room? Any ideas?

Thanks!:goodvibes

not sure if you want to head down to Epcot/Boardwalk area, but we always like to start our trip with a visit to Beaches and Cream. It has actually become a tradition in our family! Great Burgers, Ice cream, Shakes, etc. Always good and always a fun time, and the kids love it!!

Since you have something at 9, I would keep it lighter. I think Kona would be good.

Thank you for the input, I appreciate it. We haven't been to Disney since our First Wedding Anniversary in 2002; so we feel out of the loop.:wizard:

Kona is very good and it's right next to your resort so you won't waste any travel to to anywhere else.

About how long does it take to walk from GF to the Poly? Considering that we are coming in to the airport at 12:39, what time should we schedule an ADR for? Or, what are the odds we could just walk up to the podium and get in? (Either a restaurant at GF or the Kona Cafe.) Thank you very much for your assistance.

I always think a good first ever Disney meal is one with characters. If that is not possible, Ohana is fun in the Poly, too.

Just watch your timing. You may not be seated to eat until 2PM or so, and if I eat a table service lunch at 2PM, there's no way I'd be ready for dinner at 9PM. Especially at Victoria and Alberts. Would NOT want to spoil me meal there! Maybe you try a counter service somewhere?

We eat EARLY breakfast the day we are going to V&A and don't eat again...sooooooo much food.

Thanks everyone for your input! We have ressies for Kona Cafe for a light lunch. Really looking forward to the coffee. I normally drink tea, but I enjoy a good coffee now and then.
