Hi-

Where do you recommend we eat in DTD? I want to do some shopping and eat around 5 pm? I would like a sit down restaurant. Thanks for the help!

I'm partial to Portobello Yacht Club. It's close to the Marketplace and we've had a couple of very good meals there.

I like Fulton's Crab House ~ If you are seafood lover it is a must for you!!!!

I can't recommend where to eat, but I can recommend where NOT to eat. My son & I went to Planet Hollywood last year (he wanted to see the inside) - I can't remember what I had, but I was violently ill about 12 hours later and missed an entire day of our vacation going from the bed to the bathroom. :( I'm sure it must have been a fluke, but we won't go back there this year. Have fun!!

We discovered Bongos in December and liked it so much we plan to revisit it in October.

May I ask if you have any kids in your party?;)

The House of Blues is awesome. Very laid back atmosphere, great service and the shrimp po boy is wonderful!

Ditto - TZMOM - The same thing happened to our family in 2001. It really didn't have anything to do with Planet Hollywood, but we still will never dine there again.

My son, however, really likes the House of Blues!

Hi!

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Disneyfan- There would be three of us....me, DH, and DD9.

Claudia

We love the HOB, and try always to get there for a meal or at least a drink at the bar - just love the atmosphere... we are old Ackroyd/Belushi fans, so it feels like visiting a shrine. ;)

DH loves the burgers, I love the Jambalaya, haven't tried anything else, and my only complaint has been about the service - "laid back' is accurate. Not terrible, but a hair slower than one might expect when the place is only half full. That was only once, and it wasn't bad enough to keep us from planning to return.

Another vote for Portobello Yacht Club. I love their food and atmosphere, and can't wait to return!

I may be in the minority here, but DH and I love Rainforest Cafe. The atmosphere is just fun, and we have never had problems with out meals. If you have never been to one, you may want to give it a try!

DH and I really enjoy House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, and Fultons. We have tried Portobello Yacht Club as well and while it was good, it's not high on our "must return to" list.

I'm just going to echo the suggestions already given - DH & I LOVE both the House of Blues & Portobello Yacht Club. We LIKE Rainforest Cafe & Planet Hollywood, but our experiences here have been hit or miss!

I can honestly say I like all the restaurants at DTD, except Bongos because I don't like Cuban food, and have had good meals at all of them. The restaurants vary greatly in atmosphere, price and cuisine.
We have our favorite dishes at all the DTD restaurants and it depends on what we are in the mood for, the price range we wish to spend, etc., but we have always enjoyed all our meals no matter which restaurant we chose.
For high mid priced restaurants: Planet Hollywood, Rainforest, House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck (downstairs), Captain Jacks (our least favorite)
For pricey restaurants: Portobello, Fultons

My choice would be Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Great variety and I've never tried something I didn't like there! Some particular favorites are the sushi rolls and the butternut squash ravioli.

I had a great time last time we were at RFC- GREAT service, something I did not receive at RFC Anaheim. Fun atmosphere, good food- expensive but HUGE portions! From what I understand it's usually hit or miss, but this last time it sure was a hit for us.

I've always liked the RF Cafe - the one in DTD seems better than the one at AK to me, and even though we have one a couple of miles from our house, we still go quite often when we're there. I usually stick with the hamburger, blue mountain chicken sandwich, or Planet Earth Pasta. Your daughter would probably like the atmosphere of that and Planet Hollywood the best. It's been a couple of years since we've been there, but I remember liking some sort of lasagna-type thing (lasagna tower?). I also like House of Blues (tried jambalaya and meatloaf), but my wife thought the menu was too limited for her tastes since she's not a big cajun fan. We didn't care too much for Wolfgang Puck cafe, and thought Fulton's was overpriced for the quality. We've never tried Portobello or Bongo's.

House of Blues is our favorite restaurant at DD. We have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. Therev Jambalaya with an order of Rosemary cornbread are fantastic. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.
