I've been offered 2 different jobs, both starting when I return from vacation. I have been a stay at home mom for the past 2 1/2 years, but we just "upgraded" our lifestyle by buying 2 brand new cars so I need to get a job.
The first one is Victorias secret call center. The benefits sound great, as well as the pay. I will also get 40% off all there stuff!

The second one is Time Warners call center, doing the same thing, and the pay is pretty much the same. I will get free cable with all the channels and free internet ( i have there cable and internet now) I will also get 1/2 off there phone and payperview. I'm not to sure about the other benefits, but I will be going there tomorrow to discuss them further. I've been so excited about victorias secret (as I have had this job offer for 1 month now) and then time warner just called me 2 days ago. Hubby wants me to go with Time Warner as he is a wrestling freak and he gets that payperview monthly ($50.00)
WHERE SHOULD I GO? :confused3
Thanks!! :thumbsup2

He may be getting pay per view wrestling monthly, but from Victorias secret what could you be getting for him more then monthly....lol

Sorry, that's just the way this male thinks.....I love my sports but if my wife could work at VS I think I would like that.

Personally I would go with the job at TW. How much a month could you save by getting free cable and internet and half of your phone bill covered? In order to save money at VS you'd have to spend money. It's a no brainer in my book.

I'd go with the Time Warner job.

I agree with Southern4sure in the general, given the information we have here. But I'd also want to know about bennies, opportunity for advancement, hours, flexibility, etc. Like, for instance, which job allows you more freedom in choosing your next Disney vacation? :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the job offers, btw! :cool1:

Time Warner job all the way! I know my parents pay way too much on cable and internet alone! Think about it, you proabably wake up every morning and watch tv and your husband/kids too. But, in Victoria's secret you won't be shopping there every single day to get a meesley 40% off because you work for them! :happytv:

Free cable and internet is the way to save money since you just bought 2 cars and who doesnt want to save money!? Good luck!! :thumbsup2

Thats easy if your looking to MAKE money, not spend it. VC will only cost you more! Yep 40% off means you'll be buying stuff. You will make the same but save more with free cable and such... if its a money decision- go with TW. You said it was to make more money right?

To save/earn more money. The TW is the choice I would go for. Victoria's Secret would make you just spend more of the money your earning to pay for bills, debts, etc. :)

If it qualifies for full benefits go for TW. They have good ones. :thumbsup2

Of course I'd pay to work at Victoria's Secret. But then again I'm a confirmed, dyed in the wool perv.
No...seriously! It's true! :teeth:

I wouldn't mind putting in some community service there. :thumbsup2

I'm with Southernforsure on this. TW it is! Welcome aboard :thumbsup2

A different spin...

Benefits, pay and job responsibilities should be taken into consideration BUT you also have to be happy with your workplace, what you're doing, who you're representing, commute time, on site amenities etc.

Go to the meeting with TW then decide which of the two jobs would make you happier overall...

I'd be interested in knowing if at TW you could transfer to another department after a specified time period. Seems there could be opportunity for advancement there...maybe? If not, I'd *still* be inclined to take the TW job over VS. :teeth:

good answer good answer. I agree with MareQ

way better than mine...lol

Speaking strictly about the discount, all other things being equal, I'd go with TW. The VS secret discount requires a purchase of goods you don't necessarily need. The TW gives you a discount on services you already have and are paying for.

That's another good point. I worked for NYTelephone/NYNEX/BellAtlantic/Verizon for almost 18 years. A lot of people, DH and myself included started as operators just to get a foot in the door. After a year we were eligible to upgrade.
