I am looking for input on which section to stay at in the Saratoga Springs Resort. I will be traveling with my DH and 4yo DD. I know we will be spending some time at the main pool and at DTD as well, but also have concerns about proximity to bus and travel time on bus to parks. Please give input on WHY you would select the section you chose. Thanks so much for your help in advance!! :thumbsup2

Good question. We are going this July and would like to know the same. One question I have is once I know the "ideal" location to stay can I call MS and request a location. We made our ressie a few months ago. Does that matter?

Thanks!;)

I would choose Congress Park, it's got a close bus stop, the shortest walk to Downtown Disney Marketplace, and just a few minutes walk to the main pool. Their is also a beautiful quiet pool at Congress Park that has a great view of Downton Disney.

We've stayed at Congress Park and The Carousel sections. Congress Park was great as I prefer quiet pools with less people (this one was beautiful and very peaceful) and the walk to DTD was nice and not too long. Depending on what section you're in, it could be a bit of a hike back to the main pool, food area and boat dock. The Carousel section was the only thing open on our second stay (our room requests as well as my name had disappeared somehow from our ressie) and we really disliked this section. It's far away from EVERYTHING. They even put us in a room with a balcony view..of the security guard house/access road despite the section being mostly empty(at least it was quiet:) ) I would definitely not recommend that section. The Springs would probably be good if you wanted to be close to the main pool, lobby, store etc. and I think a lot of the resort activities take place in that general area. I know you can always put in requests for specific views/buidings but, as we were reminded, they are only requests not a guarantee. Hope this helps!

I really loved staying in the Grandstand section in March. It is an easy walk to the Carriage House, has a bus stop right outside and its own pool with a really fun wet play area for the little ones.

Do you ever have problems with the bus being overcrowded by the time it reaches the Congress Park bus stop? That area looks like a great place to be, but I was concerned about the bus transportation issues--if there are any?

Thanks for the responses!

I have never had a bus problem at SSR on any of the occassions that I stayed there before.

There is a path right through the golf course and up a small hill. Maybe 5 minutes, 10 if you walk really slowly.

The only problem I had with the Congress Park section is the noise (music) from Pleasure Island at night. The quiet pool wasn't really quiet, and you couldn't sit on the balcony peacefully - if you were so inclined. The noise really seemed to drop off once you got behind Congress Park. I would like to try the Grandstand area - it seems nice. I would also like the Paddock, if you had a view of the lake.

Congress Park is great, but it's a long haul for a 4 y.o (or parent with a stroller) going to DTD, so bus may still be in order. I also can't remember if there is a children's pool with the adult pool and hot tub there, but the pool is very relaxing.

We didn't have noise problems, but our room was angled towards West Side rather than Pleasure Island.

Grandstand is getting favorable reviews and is probably the same distance as Congress Park from Carriage House and main pool. Springs is closest to main pool, but I don't feel as relaxed there - Grandstand and Congress Park probably have the best views. Springs is in the middle of everything.

Buses were always great for us and never over crowded, though we weren't there in high season.
