I have a couple weeks off at the end of June, so I was considering going on a vacation. I'm probably going to go with a tour group, since I don't really feel like doing solo travel and I can't find anyone to go with me. My only question is... which one should I go on? I have it narrowed down to 2, based on the dates available, and that I don't want to go to places I've already been (I've been to a good amount of the touristy cities in Europe).

So should I do an England and Scotland tour (http://contiki.com/tours/127-england-scotland ) or an Iceland tour ( http://www.topdecktours.co.uk/Content.asp?Document_ID=55654&Display_Type=45714 )

Iceland is more expensive, and less days, so that might make my decision for me, but it sounds so cool... going to Iceland. And I hear it's gorgeous there. I've been to London before, but haven't been to any of the other cities. Also, if I do the England tour, I've traveled with that company before, and they offer past traveler discounts. Anyways, I would love to hear some input.

According to my random google search, best time of year to visit Iceland is June, so looks like you hit it just right, whereas England and SCotland said September was the best time of year.

As for other, I always vote for Costa Rica if you have never been: beaches, active volcano and lots of wildlife and rainforest to see!

I voted Iceland but I may be biased since that is one of the places I really want to go. Most of my vacations are active vacations that involve either a marathon, cycling, hiking, kayaking, mountaineering, or something of the like. Iceland has a huge amount of activities that you can get out there and do. The country and terrain is very unique and there are a lot of unique things that you just won't see anywhere else.

With the pretty much complete collapse of their banking system the cost of Iceland has gone from being one of the most expensive places to travel (Reykjavik used to rank up there with Paris and London in expense) to being pretty reasonable.

The only thing I would go to England for would be football and that is over in June anyway.

I voted for Iceland. Always wanted to go there, especially when I saw it on the Amazing Race.

It looks beautiful. Good luck with your decision.

I would go to Iceland as well-especially since you have been to Europe already.

I love the UK and if you've only been to London, I recommend branching out and seeing some more. Yorkshire is beautiful and York is a lot of fun to visit. (DH's hometown is in Yorkshire so I may be biased.) ;) We're planning on travelling up to Scotland on our next trip.

I'm surprised that everyone has voted for Iceland! I've been wanting to go to Iceland for ages and everybody thought I was nuts.
