Where should I get my Disney tickets next?

We will be there next week, staying at DLH, but I still haven't bought my park tickets. Any discounts taking place now? Can I just buy at the hotel? I obviously don't want to purchase anything that has to be mailed.

Most sites offer a download and print at home option. Direct from Disney, Ares travel, Park Savers and Last Minute Travel all have this options. I'm still waiting for LMT to send the voucher via email so I'd make sure they can get it to you in time for your trip. All of the others aside from direct from Disney offer a savings over the gate price.

Yes, you can buy at the front desk of the DLH, but you do have other cheaper options.

Not sure what type of ticket you need (days and if a park-hopper), but most places will sell you a ticket with the print-at-home feature, where you just take the barcode that prints out directly to the turnstiles and a "traditional" ticket is printed out when you enter. Some deals have you trade in your voucher at the ticket booths (but the DLR Front desk can also do it).

Here is a good list of discounted offers.

If we are buying direct from Disney, are the online prices for multi-day tickets exactly the same as buying at the gate? I realize that other sources offer deals, but we would be using Disney VISA rewards.

You only get MM if you buy online. I believe they are the same, I think for now the only one that might change are the single day prices because of the demand pricing. But that could change after 9/15.

I just pulled the trigger today and bought our 5-day park hoppers through Last Minute Travel. I called the 888 number instead of joining the club. Adult tickets (we needed 4) were $281.97 at LMT (compared to $335 on DL website) and child tickets (we needed two) were $269.37 at LMT (compared to $320 on DL website). So instead of paying a grand total of $1,980 I paid $1,666.56. WOOT!

Wow! Great deal! Do you get a MM and are they sending you real tickets or do you have to print a voucher at home?

Not only can you buy and print, if you have the app you can buy and then just have them scan the barcode from the app. I did this for my trip in May and it was GREAT. No worries about losing the print out or forgetting it at home.

If you buy the tickets on the LMT app, does DLR replace it with paper tickets at the gate for use at the Fastpass kiosks?

Yes, Magic Morning included and they are vouchers we bring to the gate to get our tickets. They could just scan the vouchers from my phone, but I'll probably print them out anyway.

I got my 4-Day PH tickets from LMT. I found a coupon code online for a free 12 month membership and did everything through the LMT website. I got my e-ticket link sent back to me in 4 days. I downloaded the e-ticket to my phone and printed one out just to be safe. I know others on the boards had good things to say about LMT but I was sweating it out until the e-ticket link came because the LMT tickets were so much cheaper than anywhere else I had found I was worried I got scammed.

When you select your tickets on LMT, I notice you have to enter a date. Since I'm splitting my tickets up into 3-day and 4-day tickets, my belief is that I need to enter the first day of my trip for the first set of tickets and the fourth day of my trip as the start date for the second set. Is that correct? Or should i just put the first day of my trip for both sets of tickets? This is my first time ordering through LMT, so all I need to do is print out the vouchers and present it at guest services?

When I ordered (which I did by calling the 888 number) they just wanted to make sure there was enough time for them to get the tickets to us. After I explained it would be quite awhile (more than 30 days) they didn't ask for anything more specific in terms of date. And yes, you can just take the vouchers to the gate when you first enter and they'll take pictures of you and give you your tickets.

Thanks! We are getting into town the night before we first use our tickets. Do you know if we can trade in our voucher for tickets the night before so there is no holdup in the morning?

Our trip is next year so I can't look at 2017 prices yet, but when they pop I'm gonna price compare:

LastMinuteTravel
aRes
ParkSavers

Anything else I should price compare with?

If there's a barcode on the top right, then you can go straight to the gate. If there isn't a barcode, then you will take the voucher to the ticket windows. Ticket windows, yes, you should do the night before. Barcode (also called e-tickets) will be scanned at the gate, and they will print a normal ticket out for you as they check you in.... So, if you go to activate a barcode/e-ticket the night before, it will show that activation of your first day... and you don't want to do that if you aren't planning on it!

In short: barcode/e-tickets are exchanged and activated the morning of your first day, as you are checking in. Vouchers (no barcode) may be exchanged in the days before.

Thank you so much for the explanation! My paper tickets have a bar code, so I will wait until our first park morning to redeem them for regular tickets at the gate.

I just bought our tickets for summer 2017 through Get Away Today. They price matched LMT, which had the best price by a lot! I also bought GAT's Peace of Mind ticket insurance for $25, in case something comes up and we have to cancel. Since I'm buying them early, it's nice to not have to worry about something popping up, and being out money if we can't go for some reason. I purchased them early to beat any price increases, but the tickets are good for a year.
