...or maybe it should be titled An Emotional Puzzle

Parameters:
First 3 days Boardwalk
Middle day- What to do?
Last 3 days offsite

I will stay in studio. I have a tween.
We have a car but won’t always rent a car.
Plan to come back every 3 years or so. We will go to either Epcot or preferably Animal Kingdom (Yak and Yeti res) following that middle day.
I’m a new DVC member and used to value and off property. have been to WDW several times.

what should I do for that middle day?

a) stay at boardwalk- different category unless waitlist comes up, not moving, not using car for 4 days- it was a super duper cheap deal tho

b) stay first time at AK. savanna, room requests in - exciting views I hope, we like Safari ride and Sanaa. We usually do a double day at AK but this time we will double day at EP. We have hard to get yak and yeti reservations. We don’t always eat table service but we always make time for YY tradition. And I signed up for Landry’s club but can be used another time.

But ....
C) riviera studio opened up! We only have a handful of direct points. We have Topolino’s res. to explore regardless. We are so curious about Riviera and appreciate new and shiny. Husband and I pick it right away if it weren’t for the kid. I guess I am mostly thinking it is a rare oppt I shouldn’t pass up. But maybe we could save for later?

what do you think??

Edit: If it comes down to my daughter, we usually consider her (think mermaid room) input but she is flexible with Boardwalk (where friends are staying) or Savanna. We are all curious about savanna but it seems like it is very easy to get and can do another time.

I vote AKV & savanna. You can get takeout Sanaa and eat out on the balcony watching the animals. Because you are already staying at the boardwalk it’s very easy to skyline over to Riviera and enjoy some time there. You can set up a room tour too.

Riviera. The points there are so high so shorter stays make sense. Especially since you are visiting boardwalk and will have skyliner. AKL would be second option if you really just wanted to try it but points are low so would make sense to stay there longer than one night when you want to visit.

I wish my daughter had more of an opinion to sway me.
She just said, I’m indecisive. lol.

Lots of time left to stay in Riviera I guess. I just let go of it....because I wanted to make up my mind already...and it is gone forever in a blink. Then I regretted it but I’m sure I’ll get over it. I even cancelled my BW waitlist. Sounded somewhat boring as I wrote it out but I know it is practical.

Those animals better be out, that’s all I’m saying!!! After the pandemic, being in nature sounds divine. Thanks all for the input.

I ended up keeping the 3 BW nights, extended to 2 AK nights, and offsite near our favorite Mexican restaurant and outlets for last two. It will be fun bc our friends might visit us at savanna too. Plus AK park day is sandwiched between. Will get a tour at Riviera (before our Topolino’s dining) as suggested by dis. Thanks all!!

Sounds great! Do you mind sharing what Mexican and why it’s your favorit?

El Patron! Doesn’t disappoint. Just found out they are doing UberEats now too. We just really like the food. Lots of choices and it tastes delicious.
