Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

I said it last year and I will say it again this year .....BACK TO SCHOOL????? NOOOOOOOOOO.....It's way too soon! :scared1:

I know you get out of school before us, but I swear we have at least 2 more weeks of summer vacation compared to you.

But, enough of that depressing talk. I love the cool picture from PoC4. That is really, really neat and I am so glad you posted it!

Nice aunt to trek into the jungle for you to be able to send pictures for you to share with all your friends:thumbsup2Love it! Too bad about work and back to school. We'll need pics of the disco ball if she gets one, and then
I won't let my 10 yr old see. They get lockers for the first time this year, they have to share, but I know she wants to decorate it.:rolleyes1

Ohhh gorgeous! I'd love to visit Hawaii someday. I likes the first Pirates the best. I didn't see the last one and the 2nd one I was sleeping during half of it because I was still jet lagged from my Italy trip!

Oh my gosh....disco ball in the locker, Chelsea cracks me up!! :rotfl:
Here's to all the luck for your back to school week! I can't believe, as always, how fast summer has flown by.

I'll say it again, LOVE the pics and so funny of your family to hide in the jungle to take them, I can only imagine what they'd do in order to get pics of Capt Jack!:rotfl2:

Yes it is that time again...time to get back to work!! WHERE did our Summer go Jackie??? Although I have to admit I do love back to school shopping!!! Wal-Mart has such great deals on school supplies I totally stock up!!!

Thanks for the pictures! I so can't wait to see that movie!

I go back to work tomorrow, so in an effort to cheer us all up, I thought I would share a couple of pictures my aunt, who lives in Hawaii, sent my mom.

She said in her email, "We have a new ship docked windward and the whole island is excited. It's the Queen Ann's Revenge, here to start filming the Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides. They started casting calls months ago, scooping up the guys from my poetry class, who all look like pirates (or cast-aways), but not so much the girls. Of course, getting near her is a problem--so...we took pictures from the jungle."

I was beside myself with excitement when I saw these pictures! So cool!

We are headed out to do school supply shopping today -- I may have to get a coffee drink to get through this. Chelsea heard that Target has locker disco balls, so she is all about getting one of those. She could really care less about the actual supplies that she needs.

:worship: Thank you SOO much for the pictures and info from your aunt! I did a little happy dance when I saw them. I LOVE the Pirates movies and have been wondering when they were supposed to start/finish filming. You pretty much just made my day. LOL

BACK to SCHOOL shopping!!!!??? Say it isn't soo... I am sorry you were not more successful with the school shopping bit today... :sad2: You still have time!!! Locker disco balls, huh? WOW... what will they think of next!

I saw some cute TS3 notebooks at Target...

COOL on the movie! Pirate's 4? I had no idea!!! :goodvibes

So cool!! I told my B/F about it, he was super jealous and immediately wanted me to show him the pictures. :rotfl2:

Disco ball in the locker, I love it! I always forget that you guys get out and go back earlier than we do. I don't think my sister got out till June 23 or 24 -- had there been snow days to make up (outside of the 4-5 "free" days), it would have been even later. Last year, they went back to school before Labor Day since it fell kind of late in the month, but everyone was up in arms about it b/c going back before Labor Day is unheard of.

Love the pirate ship pictures. We were able to go on one of the ships they used for the first movie. It visited her the weekend after Thanksgiving in 2008. It was the same ship used in the "Bounty" movie.

I may have to do some movie stalking in the future. The 2 parts of Breaking Dawn are going to be filmed here in Baton Rouge. It's all the buzz. Some one I know is on the production crew and scouts locations. She can't give any information due to signing a contract. I also know one of the guards for the movie lot. He has been sworn to silence too. He did tell me it looks like western town down there right now due to the filming of "The Big Valley" remake. They even had Lee Majors in it. He's going to play his old character's dad.

So you start meetings tomorrow? It all starts for us next Tuesday...
We have a flex day on Friday the 13th so I won't be working that day then the kids come on the 16th.
As I recall, you all ended about a week before we did and I was green with envy!
Good luck tomorrow Jackie, just remember this early start gets us out in May!:goodvibes

Sorry you are back at school today.
Try to find a few minutes for some kind of Disney fun. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Very cool pictures!!! Wow! I love how your aunt hid out in the jungle. :rotfl:

I didn't even know they had a Pirates 4 in the making. I've seen all the movies, but I don't really follow it along - they were alright, but not something I'm really into.

MeMom - he's not my type either!!! I'm glad I'm not alone! :goodvibes I don't think he's unattractive, but I don't really find the allure that most women do to him! :rolleyes1

Jackie - I hope your first day goes smoothly! Hard to believe that time of year is already here. :sad2:

Hope your first day back to work went well! Those pictures were great! Thanks for sharing. I saw something on TV over the weekend abotu the making of POC4. When do Connor and Chelsea start back at school? Did Chelsea get the disco ball for her locker?

Can you let your Aunt know that we would all really appreciate a picture of Captain Jack.....just saying:rolleyes1

How much do we all need to pitch in to get her a super tele-photoe lens?:lmao:
THANKS for the pics! I had no idea they were planning more. PoC movies are entertaining, but my crush goes back to his 21 Jump Street Days. :worship: Yes, I'm that old.

Our local district started yesterday too. I'm so jealous because Phoebe has another week to go. All the local parents on my FB are singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year". :rotfl2:

Is that Bali Hai in the background? It looks like Kauai. Am I right? That is so awesome!!! I love Hawaii. Only 10 months to go until I see it again.

I am not sure where that is exactly! :confused3 How cool that you are headed there again next summer! Where do you stay when you go?

It may also be Chinamans Hat on Oahu. I am not sure from the picture. Looks great though. I wish I was there.

I wish I was there, too!

Very cool pics!

One day I want to visit Hawaii! Look at that water! Gorgeous! ;)

I would love to go to the new Disney resort when it opens!

Good Luck school shopping, I did that last Friday.

A locker Disco ball sounds very fun! Hope you find it! :thumbsup2

We managed to get it all done. I am sure the kids' teachers will ask for more stuff, though. That always seems to be the case with us.

The Disco Balls were sold out, but Chelsea found some locker beads. LOL!

Lexi still enjoys back to school shopping but my son just said "eh, thanks" :rotfl2:
He could care less about picking out new school stuff.
As long as he has binders and pens/pencils on the first day he is happy.
Happy is not the right word ...... he never goes back to school happy! :lmao:

That describes Connor, too! He was very unhappy with us when we went and looked at clothes afterwards. He said he hadn't agreed to that.

very cool! i will have to show those to ray. oh, and does your aunt need a roommate in hawaii, by chance??? :rolleyes1

I know it! I would love to move there!

good luck school supply shopping. no locker is complete without a disco ball....duh. ;) last year i made the mistake of going to target in athens right around the time UGA was going back to school. that place was a madhouse filled with freshmen girls and their mothers loading up their carts with dorm room supplies and they were all SO RUDE. i thought i was gonna get in a fight just getting in and out of there!

Ugh, that does not sound like fun! Sadly, the disco balls were sold out. Chelsea did get locker beads though.

Those pictures are so very cool!! How neat that your Aunt gets to a part of the film buzz!! :thumbsup2

I remember when I was younger, and she was getting pictures from the Magnum, PI set. LOL!

Awesome pics! How lucky of your aunt to be able to see that! I can't wait for pirates 4! I loved all of the movies and of course Captain Jack ;) It's so weird for me this year since i'm a college freshman not to have to go school shopping. I still have to go get a backpack and some pens and pencils but that's about it! It sort of makes me sad because I'm not living in a dorm so I don't get the fun of shopping for my dorm :( Oh well, there's always next year! Hopefully by then i'll be living in my own apartment, let's hope!

Yeah, college school supply shopping is so different!

We love the Pirates movies, too!

That is so cool! I can't wait to see Captain Jack again. Sigh.

So lucky to have an Aunt in Hawaii. I'm sure she must be very popular amoung her family for visiting. :)

I can't wait, either! I think it will be great!

Very cool picture! Your Aunt will have to keep us updated on the movie progress!

I hope so continues to sneak around in the jungle, nabbing pictures.

I got the last of Hannah's school supplies on Saturday. 22 more days until she and Alison go back to school. :cool1: :cool1: I had some time to kill this morning so went to Target. I found some very cute vintage Mickey Mouse notebooks. They had 3 designs and, since I couldn't make up my mind which one I liked the best I bought all 3! I'll probably use one to take notes on our trip and debating on whether to give one to the girls for the trip or save them for stocking stuffers. I have such a hard time figuring out what to put in their stockings that when I find something I hate to give it up! LOL

They did have lots of neat Disney stuff at Target in the school supply aisle. I couldn't convince either of my kids to get any of it though.

Great pictures from Hawaii. We have a good friend who is a stunt double for a couple of the main characters of the Pirates series. We ran into his parents when we were home this summer on vacation. They told us that there would be a #5 as well because our friend had already been signed.

That's neat! I will keep going to see the Pirates movies as long as they keep making them!

I have only seen one Pirates movies - the first one. I'm not so into them, and Johnny Depp is not my type, but the pictures are cool, and that is a beautiful place.

Johnny Depp isn't my type, either, but I love the movies! They are always so much fun!

Good luck with the school shopping. I think I am going to run up to Target in a little while and price the plastic animals they have for my Rafiki's Planet Watch area of my room. Target has, in the past anyway, had some very realistic looking animals, so I hope they still have them.

Were you able to find some good plastic animals?

It has been a good summer, but it is clearer every day that it is about to end. :sad1:

Yep, it is pretty much over here -- at least in theory. Of course, it is still 104 degrees...

Oh, lordy, don't let Maggie find out about this...she'd be all over that! :sad2: My kids go back August 30, and they are already chomping at the bit to start shopping.

That was Chelsea -- she wanted to talk school shopping when we were at Disney! I told her I didn't want to even think about heading back when we were on vacation!

Johnny Depp isn't my type, either...but Captain Jack is!!! :lmao:

Chelsea would agree! She has always had a soft spot for Captain Jack!

Very cool. Hopefully your aunt can keep us up to date with any scoop while they're filming!

A locker disco ball... that is TOO much! :lmao:

I hope so, too!

It's so Chelsea, isn't it? LOL!

Hey Jackie just wanted to let you know that I googled Queen Anne's Revenge and she was Blackbeard's ship. It is believed that she is off the coast of North Carolina. So cool that your aunt saw the ship.

Cool! I wonder how that will fit into the story line of the movie!

Great photos!
I wish I there.

Back to school already?? :sad2:
You must take a photo of Chelsea's locker disco ball if she gets one!

Sadly, they were all sold out! We did procure locker beads though. LOL!

Great updates!!!

Back to school? :(. Ick!!!

Yep, that pretty much describes my feelings on the subject, too! I want to be like Phineas and Ferb -- on perpetual summer vacation!

thanks for the Pirate ship pic's...very cool. I just watched POC 1 last night pirate:

ahh back to school...yes I did the shopping for the twins last Friday...and then of course after labeling everything, Bekah found some things we needed that we already had downstairs :headache: doh! oh well...you know they'll lose something...

You can tell Chelsea that we have a disco ball in our basement... boogie fever....

They will lose something or need something replaced -- I did really good this year and took stock of everything before we went shopping.

Chelsea would love to come visit and boogie down! LOL!

I just caught up on your report. I cannot believe how much older Chelsea looks than in your last report. She is growing up. How cool to be in WDW for her 13th birthday.

She is growing up so quickly! It is amazing to me how much she has changed.

Love the pics from Hawaii! I'm still a bit behind on the Pirates movies. I still have to see the 3rd one!

Madison doesn't start school until Sept 7th, but we've already gotten all of her school supplies. They sent the list home on the last day of school this year which was quite nice. They usually don't send it out until mid-August.

I think you'll probably still have a year or so to catch up. ;)

That was nice to send home the supply list early -- I wish our schools did that.

Wow how cool that she was able to get pics of that!

I would love to visit Hawaii someday...it looks beautiful.

Good luck with school shopping, hopefully you guys find everything you need

Me too! All my aunt's pictures are always so pretty!

I know. Most girls swoon over Captain Jack, but he just doesn't do much for me.
I am sure he's okay with that, because I can assure you that I do nothing for him, as well.

I don't swoon over him, but I do think Captain Jack is a great character. I love some of his lines! Very funny!

I should be more up to date on my Pirate watching, though, simply because it is Disney,
so I plead stupidity, and will try to do better in the future. I think the boys have one or two of the movies around here.

I have found that with Chelsea and Connor, if they aren't into something, I don't end up watching it. The things they are interested in -- I have seen a million times. I am sure you can relate with Brooklyn and The Little Mermaid! LOL!

Come on over MeMom - we'll have a Pirates marathon! I even have Disney popcorn buckets that we can eat our popcorn out of :thumbsup2

I want to come, too!

Be there right after I finish my corn dog. :thumbsup2

I'll bring chocolate pirate coins!

Very cool pirate ship! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I thought so, too!

:cool1: I can't wait to hear "Cynthia" in a lovely Italian accent!

It was a highlight of the trip! LOL!

Very cool about PoC! Pretty pictures! Wow, your aunt just lives the life, doesn't she? Hawaii, poetry class... :cloud9:

She has always been the "cool" aunt. LOL!

Locker disco ball!?! :thumbsup2 Show us pictures if she ends up getting it! :)

Sadly, they were sold out, but Chelsea got locker beads instead. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a good day back to work tomorrow! :upsidedow

Thanks! It was good seeing everyone again!

what a great update and HOW FUN! SOOOO Cool!

Locker Disco balls

:rotfl:

I know! I want one, too! :lmao:

I bet it's hard for you to believe summer is almost over, your trip is done and that you all have to head back to work already. Sometimes reality bites. :( Chelsea is a TRIP! Morghan started middle school last year so making her locker "cool" was a big priority too. I hope Target still had some of them in stock! Will you let me know how much they were by chance too? :) Thanks Jackie!

Been gone a little while again so going back to catch up now!

The start of school snuck up on me, that's for sure. I think because we usually take our trip at the beginning of the summer. With it at the end, I feel like we went straight from vacation to work.

Our Target was sold out on the locker disco balls, but we could see where they were supposed to be hanging. The price was $4.99.

I said it last year and I will say it again this year .....BACK TO SCHOOL????? NOOOOOOOOOO.....It's way too soon! :scared1:

Yes, that's my feelings exactly!

I know you get out of school before us, but I swear we have at least 2 more weeks of summer vacation compared to you.

We have nine weeks of vacation all together. I think. I counted at the start of the summer, but now I can't remember exactly what the number was.

But, enough of that depressing talk. I love the cool picture from PoC4. That is really, really neat and I am so glad you posted it!

Thanks!

Great trip report!

Thank you! Welcome!
