I see a developing thread on where to eat, so here's another, more subjective and contraversial one..... Issues could be price, location, food quality, service, colour of the wallpaper.... but where would you say to avoid in Disney?

Starter for 10 from us after recent trip:

Tony's Town Square Restaurant in MK

Why? Very average fare (meatballs consisted on far too much spaghetti and two small meatballs and two courses (no, only one and two thirds courses as DW shared my desert) for $100 plus tip.

By comparison, I got two trips to Olive Garden for $120 and food was perhaps five times as good, plus the bill included one beer/wine for each of the adults.

That's my 10c, what do you say? ::MickeyMo

Turkey legs...just plain yucky!

Well, Olive Garden is not in WDW so not a completely fair comparison but I do agree with you - I would prefer Olive Garden every time

I am not a great fan of the food on offer at Restaurant Marrakesh and I think California Grill is over hyped and over priced. Bistro de Paris should be avoided if you want wine with your meal - the mark up is excessive even for Disney. The food is excellent though...... Whispering Canyon at WL has OK food but is way too noisy.

I had better go find that post about places to eat at before I end up sounding too negative! :3dglasses

I agree. We went to Tony's last year & I got severe indigestion after! There was very little variety on the menu & was not impressed at all. :sad2:

ITA, We've eaten at the Yachtsmans Steakhouse and found it to be fairly average for the price too.

we also were very disappointed by the California Grill....way too noisy for a restaurant that's supposedly for fine dining...

also, we had breakfast in 1900 park fare in september and it was extremely disappointing...for character breakfasts, i'd avoid this one and choose one of the others...

Accepted, but it is Italian food and twice the price for worse food just 'cos its in MK = bad value.

Interested in the post re: indigestion from disneyfan61 as DW said the same and I poo-poo'd her (excuse the pun!) ::MickeyMo

I have two to add, Narcosses, it is very averge food for a very high price. Also 1900 Park Fare for dinner, not had a good dinner there at all.

CG was very, very disappointing and agree with Beth terribly noisy. We found Beaches and Cream poor too, but then we're not burger types so maybe it was that. Never had a decent meal at Sci Fi either.

we also didn't like the sci fi...

however, the truth is, just because i didn't like the sci fi or the california grill or 1900 park fare, doesn't mean another person won't....someone else might love them...
so i guess what i'm saying is, don't take my word or anyone elses as the gospel truth....

Just returned yesterday - we rated Sci Fi as the BEST meal we had - even better than Jiko.

Didn't really have a worst this time - dislikes Mama Melrose a couple of years ago, though.

Thought I'd chime in on Sci-Fi - we would certainly go back there for lunch again (had two very good meals), but I really didn't like the dinner menu. Had to send one dish back because it was that bad.

Can't honestly say I've had any other BAD experiences eating at WDW - all the rest range from merely okay to superb.

TS inside Mexico. Awful food - four bad meals!
As already mention, Tony's Town Square is pretty bad.

Was tempted to try Tonys this year but after this thread, and others, I think it'll be a waste of money, will stick to a great counter service at Columbia Harbour House!

Pizza Planet.
We only went because of the name and on our next visit will give this a miss. We waited over an hour in a crowded small room and staff who kept getting orders wrong. Then we got an over priced small Pizza that didn't taste nice at all, the children even left half theres and they love Pizzas. We went and ate somewhere else not long after.

Other than that all the others places we ate were brilliant.

The food court at All Star Movies - overpriced, low quality - the pizza was "cardboard" covered in "rubber"

We didn’t enjoy our CRT experience, the food was poor, the service was awful and the whole character thing was very rushed.

One of the worst meals we had was LTT, the food was awful and the service poor.

Sci Fi - Poor food, even poorer service.

CRT - Go for the experience, not the food (which was yuk !).
