Where is your favorite place to get groceries?

For the other Winn-Dixie fan, we are joining the club...we found W.D. this last week on our most recent trip after doing Publix for many years. Not that I wouldn't do Publix again, but I found W.D. to be really convenient and close and competitive with Publix. They also had a few of our normal staples that are iffy at Publix as well...

Just my 2 cents...good luck!

Oh, Oh! Thanks for the warning. Exactly how do we get to Publix from OKW? Someone mentioned their donuts-that convinced me!

From OKW, we go to the on at 2915 Vineland Rd, Kissimmee, FL. 34746. Parking has been easy, the store rarely seems crowded. It is passed the Super Walmart. You can map it on Yahoo. OKW (starting address) is 1510 North Cove Rd, 32830.

They have a small selection of wine, nothing outstanding, but you should be able to find something you'll like. Some locations may have better selections than others.

Just a comment on the Winn-Dixie to the left of hotel row. I was there last week and disappointed in the selection. I was unable to buy French bread, caffeine-free diet Mountain Dew or diet Dr. Pepper. These may not be on everyone's list, but I won't shop at that Winn-Dixie again for one-stop shopping. I vote for Publix.

I've never seen caffeine-free diet Mtn Dew...do they carry that at Publix? If so, I'm going to stock up on our next trip. :woohoo:

Sodas seem so darn regional in nature. We can't get a lot of things in San Antonio.

Can anyone tell me how to get to Publix from AKL? Just in case we need something.......... ;)

Thanks

I was looking at the Google map and it looks like you take a right on Sherberth (sp) which is right near AKV and then a right on 192 and the Publix should be down on your right. Double check in case I'm wrong. The other one is way up past DTD.

We go to the Winn-Dixie, even signed up for their loyalty card to be sure to get their sale prices.

Does Publix have a required card to get the sale prices?

Nope, no loyalty cards yet at Publix. You can still shop anonymously there!;)

We like to shop at Publix, Super Target and we even went to Sam's Club last time we were there in August. We were off-site so Publix and Super Target were only minutes away in either direction.

Here is the Publix I usually go to:

http://store.publix.com/publix/cgi/...&place=Lake+Buena+Vista&mapx=&mapy=&x=36&y=11

Regency Village Shopping Center (Store #00812)
8145 Vineland Ave
Orlando, FL 32821-6847

Main: (407) 238-9924
Fax: (407) 238-4650

this is the one that we go to as well...

It's really easy to get to...we are usually going from WLV or SS, so we go past DTD like we are going to Goodings or Pizzeria Uno. But at that light before you would go "out of Disney" and cross that street into the Goodings and nearby shops' lots, take a right (S Apopka Vineland Rd/535) and try to get into the left lane asap. As soon as you go under I-4, you'll take your first left that isn't to get onto the highway. It's Vineland Ave.

On there, stay left I think. It's 2 lanes, but the right lane ends in like 1/4 block or less and there is little to no warning, esp with traffic.

Now, you'll just take that access road past the High-end Outlet Mall (which will be on your right. Dolly Parton's defunct Dixie stampede will be right at the end of the road to your left before you have to veer with the road to the right. Less than 1/4 block away, you'll make a left into the Publix parking lot.

Just giving detailed directions - but it's really only about 2-4 minutes tops once you've gone out of DTD.

I would think from AK, you just get onto 4 and take 535/Vineyard, then follow above.

The link that Deb gave is really good to bookmark as they seem to have good specials. I just look at their flyer a day or two before we arrive and try to plan around that a little...They usually have great deals on shrimp/seafoods/Bogos, etc.

Using Deb&Bill's link, the Orange Lake Town Center store would be much closer to AKV than the store by DTD.
