Have never seen the Animal Kingdom Parade. Want to catch it the next time we are in WDW. We are going in June, and want to see it. How long is it? Is it a "Don't Miss Parade"? Will it be easy to exit the park afterward? We will be at Animal Kingdom on their late evening, but possibly not staying late, so just asking a few questions, so we can plan our strategy. Thanks

Barbaraann,

We caught the AK parade quite by accident and LOVED it! My boys were really happy we did. They love anything with wheels (nothing has changed since their years of playing Matchbox and Tonka! ;) ) and there were some very cool vehicles in that parade. There were also animals reminiscent of the Animal King's Broadway production.

As for where... I pulled out my Passporter and tried to pinpoint it for you. We watched just to the left of and across the way from the entrance for It's Tough to be a Bug. This allowed us to make a quick exit. We were on the right side of the main path leading to the exit. It was kind of in front of a shop.

It was our favorite parade that trip! Hope this helps!!!

We love this parade! We watch from the Dawa bar in Africa.

Thank you for the help. We will definitely check out the Ak parade on our upcoming trip

At the entrance to the safari ride there are large wooden gates to the left - this is where the parade starts and ends - if you stay by the gates, you catch the parade at the beginning and the end and strangely doesn't seem to get crowded. We were in the parade last year so we observed this and will grab that spot this year.

The only trouble is that you can't make a quick exit - further down the parade route, everyone congregates close by the exit and the crowd was several people deep - all having the same idea - heading for the exit as soon as it was over.

We watched it right at the bend where the road to Camp Minnie Mickey leads off. (in front of where Lilo and Stitch always are) It was wonderful. The parade came right down the road at us so people were not leaning out to try to see and blocking our children's views (a HUGE parade pet peeve of mine).

When does this parade start?

Is it during the day or at the end of the day before AK closes?

We also watched at the Camp Minnie/Mickey bend. We then, as soon as the last part of the parade passed us beat a quick sprint up to FOTL, and were first in line for their next show, about 20 minutes later. It was a great strategy.

We actually caught it after we got off the train from Rafiki's Planetwatch. We were there to do the last Discovery Kids station (my ds always HAS to do this) and I noticed it was after 4PM. I figured we would miss it when we got on the train to go back to Africa because it was about 4:30PM when we got back. But as we walked out from the station the parade ropes were still up and we grabbed a spot near where it starts/ends. It was a great location.

The AK parade usually starts at 4pm. However, in the middle of winter, when it got dark earlier, it started at 3:45pm for a few weeks.
